Question:

If a woman has genital warts, is it safe for a man to give her oral?

and again. all of this "not common" crap is for people who knows nothing of RRP. I am telling you from REAL LIFE, not from F!@king research.
It may be true that only 2 or 3 types cause RRP but the other srains may cause cancer in the throat. There is no need for me to explain everything to you, if you know you have the virus or the other person may have it, please I repeat..please don''t let anyones genital area come close to anyones mouth area.
My lady also has RRP because of me so I have a lot more to deal with. If you have it please don't kiss anyone on the lips you 'WILL' spread it to them. To hell with all this possible crap. don't be stupid. F all the 'maybe's'. F all the 'not common'. F all the 'rare'. When doctors say the word 'rare' to some people that means it may not be possible to transmit to others. So plesae don't listen to that crap. I'm telling you now. So don't say no one told you so.

There are over 30 strains of genital HPV, and most of them are not transmittable to the mouth. According to my limited research only two strains (6 and 11) can be trasmitted to the mouth. Although it seems to be rare, I guess it''s possible. Verify this with your doctor.

I have been told by the health authorities that you can get HPV via oral sex. Actually HPV is the least of your worries. You can get other STD from oral sex, i.e. chlamydia. So unless you and your partner are being completely monogamous and have both been checked for STDS, oral sex is pretty dangerous for men and women.
They recommend that we cut a condom in a certain way so that a man can use it against a woman''s sexual organs when giving oral sex, and it works from a biological point of view, but it's rather difficult when you think of what it would take away from the experience isn't it?

My doctor said it happens, but is less likely. Regardless you and your partner both have it. I am still concerned by all of this, though. In the meantime, supposedly my strain (according to her thought, but not tests) is that I have 6 or 11, and she still told me this answer.
Go with what is comfortable for you and obviously, don''t do it while there is a breakout, however, so slightly it may be.

Believe it or not, I got herpes from a man who gave me oral sex and had the HPV virus of herpes that cause cold sores. He had no idea that he could give me herpes this way, but after talking to my DR, I found that it is possible.

NO, it is not. HPV can be transmitted to the throat. While it is rare, it can happen. The resultant disease is called Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis (RRP). Symptoms are a hoarse voice as the papilloma grows on and around the vocal cords. There is no cure, and numerous surgeries are required to remove the growths. There is a possiblility, although rare, for the growths to move down into the thrachea and into the lungs.

When a mother has HPV (active lessions) and gives birth naturally, the HPV can be transmitted to the baby''s throat. This is very dangerous for the child as it is an aggressive disease and will block the baby's airway and surgeries as frequent as 1-2 weeks apart could be necessary.

Stressgen Corp. is now conducting phase 3 of a new HPV vaccine test which has shown great improvement for these young victims.

First of all, there is no such thing as "safe'', only "safer". If you know your woman has genital warts, you will be taking a risk.

Of course, there is know way I can know for sure, but I suspect that I contracted HPV from a woman who I gave oral sex to. I suspect this because I used a condom for intercourse, but the oral was unprotected.

taken from a RRP website...

"Though the virus is widespread, the prevalence of Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis in the United States is relatively rare, estimated to be between (.005-.01%) and as low as 10 in a million (Steinberg). Genetic factors at the cellular level appear to play a key role in the epidemiology of this disease..."

Yes and please do. : ) If you want to be safer you can use saran wrap or a dental dam.

It depends upon whether or not there are warts present. If she is healthy and eating well and has no visible warts... go ahead. Just be sure to eat well yourself... and DON''T SMOKE... because this can supposedly trigger the infection in your mouth or throat.

No but don''t even think about having oral sex with anyone with the virus don't let anyone give you oral if you have the virus, any stain. Don't be stupid like me. I have RRP and it is not nice. It is also fatal if the warts spread to your lungs. Your lucky if you only have genital warts. I guess that's how life is. You don't know what you have until it's gone. Please don't listen to this "RARE" crap everyone is talking about with 'throat warts' scientifically known as Recurrent Respiratory papilloma.
please don't have oral sex

Seriously, would you eat a snatch infected with hpv, any strain? Seriously, I do not go downtown for any girl, Clam bakes are for fingers, Genital Wartss and dildos, not mouths?

I think that it is safe because I asked my doctor and he didn''t say that you could get it by oral sex. There are still being risk taken. Always think before you act and make sure that you know the person and their sexual background.

We still go down on each other and still haven''t had any outbreak in our mouth. It may be a matter that that we have a weaker virus, or one that doesn't infect the mouth, and we have already had outbreaks. I may be no doctor but that been my experience

I posted an answer to this question and I gave my email address in case anyone wanted to email me with any questions or concerns. My original address was eternaldevotion1@aol.com and it has changed to eternaldevotion1@yahoo.com. I changed services, but I wanted to be sure to inform anyone who may need some answers to their questions. I''m always here to help if I can.

No, it is unsafe. It''s a virus. It will get into your mouth and it can be fatal. Don't risk it. I have it in my mouth, I do not have HIV. And this Genital Warts HURTS. It is down my throat..that is a bad direction for it to go. Don't do it.

Sorry, but this is a NO, if you''ve got warts, do you really want your man to have those in his mouth??? Then you could kiss him...then you'll have them in your mouth...Yummy? I think not.

to the man who thinks he got hpv from giving a woman oral-
first, you probably got it from having sex with her- condoms do NOT protect again hpv infection. Second, if you received it from oral sex, you would warts in your throat, NOT in your genitals. genital warts generally only occur somewhere within the ''boxer short' area, and definitely not on other parts of your body. all the research I have done suggests that it is extremely rare for hpv to be transmitted orally. Also, to the person who wrote "hpv virus of herpes"- you are confusing two different viruses, which have nothing to do with each other. there is no strain of herpes that goes by the name of 'hpv', and it is quite common for herpes type 1 to be transmitted orally. It is far less likely for hpv, however.

do not use "saran wrap" to protect you from the infection through oral. Theres no actual way to protect yourself fromgivingor recieving the STI other than not having any sexual realtions. But if u must proceed with oral, use dental dams or comdoms (male or female ava.). Its people who tell people to use saran wrap thats are giving the bad info that is palying with peoples lives and health. The best info and advice should come from a MD. Saran wrap will not offer any protection!!!!!!!!

hpv does not cause herpes, that is hsv, hsv1 is oral and hsv2 is genital, they both cause cold sores, and both can appear in both places. however as my doctor put it, they have their preferences. and if you have hsv1, orally, it is only through direct contact when you have a cold sore that you can spread it to genitals, just becasue it is in your body does not mean it is everywhere in your body. and as for hpv, it is contact with the warts themselves that spreads it, from what I have been told it is barely contagious if there are no actual warts, however it is something that should be discussed with your partner. of course as with everything there is always a chance of spreading it it is apparently highly unlikely to be spread unless one is showing some sort of symptoms. however with girls symptoms can be basically internal and therefore not very visible.

Here are all of the pictures I have found on the internet of oral warts and/or oral HPV. I hope they help answer some of your questions. Remember, there are many “normal” bumps in the oral cavity, but paranoia can really take a toll on you if you don’t know what you’re looking at. Just hi-lite one address at a time and copy and paste it into your web address box. If you have any questions or if you would like to email me please do not hesitate. I will help as much as I can, and I will be glad to do it. My email address is eternaldevotion1@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

HPV is not an STD. Its an STI (sexually transmitted infection) theres no actual cure due to the way it almost "attaches to your DNA". It may lie dormant and not cause any warts but its not gone. Condoms dont offer protection but can certainly help. Any area of genital area is able to spred the infection, not just the penis.

If there are no warts present, then it is most likely safe for a man to give her oral. I think it would be kind of disgusting to give a person oral sex with warts present though. Besides, HPV is rarely transmitted to the mouth area. It prefers the genitals I guess.

some physicians and researchers (Broker, Kashima) acknowledge that some adults may risk infection from engaging in oral-genital sex with a person who has genital HPV. The subset of adults who are thought to be able to catch RRP in this way must be very low, otherwise, there would be tens of millions of people in the United States with Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis. It may be possible that a very small subset of sexually active adults simply do not have sufficient locally-mediated immunity to fight off this disease if they are exposed to HPV during oral sex. But this may raise even more questions than it answers.
