Question:

I was wondering if anyone has ever went through the acid treatment to remove warts? If so, was it painful or an easy type procedure to handle?

The procedure was very easy. I was treated with podyphillin. They basically just paint it on the affected area and put some talcum powder around it so it doesnt spread or drip anywhere else. Usually the doctor tells you how long to keep it on. I kept mine on for 4 hours then showered. This treatment didn''t help me, but quitting smoking and eating fruits and vegetables eventually did.

Hmm, I had the acid treatment, and it did sting for up to ten minutes (it was more of an ache after a little bit), and then I was fine. You''ll form a scab of course, so just leave that alone while it heals.

Unfortunately for me, mine came back, so I'm considering going in again. It was a quick procedure though.

I''m a female and they used a different type acid on me. The warts that were present on me you could hardly see. But the procedure itself was a litte painful at first, painful meaning it stung a little, but your body will get used to it and you won't feel it as much. It take a couple of treatments sometimes depending on your case. But you'll be fine! Just take care of yourself.

I developed numerous small warts near the base of my penis and immediately saw the doc. He initially wanted to burn them off but I declined that and opted for Aldara. I used Aldara for almost exactly a month and the warts actually began to spread and grow bigger. I went back to the doctor and opted to have them burned off this time.

To be honest I was terrified of both the burn machine and the needle needed to numb the treatment sites. Apparently the skin on the shaft of your penis is very resillient to pain and the needle prick was almost unnoticable and the burning was absolutely never felt. Afterwards there was minor discomfort but nothing a few asprins did not fix.

I would 100% recomend not wasting your time with any home treatments. You could spend MONTHS treating yourself with the possibility they may come back or your could go have a nearly painless proceedure done and be up and running in about a week. The doc said there was probably a 98% chance none of the warts would return but there may be a chance warts in other places could come up due to the virus being in the skin. If that happens I''ll have those easily burned off too.

Trust me guys and gals. Don't waste your time with anything else but the electrocaudery (burn) treatment.

Good luck.

When I was initially treated with acid, I only had one localized cluster which had not spread in the few months that I had it pre-treatment. However, within a week or so of starting treatment, the warts spread all over my genital and anal regions. Luckilly for me, my local Planned Parenthood was conducting research on a drug, PEN 203-206, which was not painful and, more importantly, quite effective. I do not know if the drug has been approved by the FDA yet. I do know, however, that since the completion of the non-acid treatment, I have gone 1.5 yrs with out a break out.

I had the acid treatment to remove a few tiny warts and I have had no more breakouts and that has been almost 2 years ago. It did sting a little for a minute or two. This treatment worked great for me

I was treated with acid. Nope... didn''t hurt at all. There was a slight tingling sensation, but not pain.

Yes, I have gone throught the acid treatment and I am not going to lie. It burned like hell. It''s acid. On the skin. The first few times were bearable, but I had to go through this a few times a day for something like four days, and if they come back you have to repeat it. So Mine came back and I had to basically put acid on wounds that weren't completely healed. ouch!! Needless to say i had them surgically removed. 2 years later I am still wart free....

I had the acid treatment yesterday. it barely hurt at all. tonight when I was applying aldera cream for the first time i rubbed over the wart and it was just gone. it came right off. after reading here i was expecting some couple of day thing with swelling and pain and itching and whatnot but i felt nothing. the acid hardly hurt. i wouldnt describe it as even hurting. i think methiolade (that red stuff your mom always put on cuts) hurts 20x worse than the acid. i was expecting pain after reading things here and was relieved! and it worked so fast! the skin beneath where the wart was is slightly pink but other than that, its gone. not raised, bumpy, anything. i am a sissy, too. low pain tolerence. try the acid at least once. it works fast. if you cant handle it and the first treatment doesnt cure it, go with something else. but im all for the acid! good luck!

I had the acid treatment done twice. The 1st time was only on 2 small spots- I thought it burned pretty much during application and was sore for a couple days. The second time was about 1 1/2 years later, bigger breakout- I felt like I was on fire during application and for about an hour or so later. I was very sore and uncomfortable for about a week and couldnt use the aldara cream for about 2 weeks, but with the combo of treatments the treated area is still clear.

I had the TCA treatment. My doctor told me it would have a delayed burning. In which she was completely right. It stung after about 15 seconds of her swabbing the acid on. This sting lasted about 3-5 minutes. All in all it was not bad. The warts fell off in 4 days. Now my skin is starting to heal and then she will decide if I need another tratment or not.

For the first 5-10 minutes of the TCA being applied to the warts it really burned. After that there was a slight burning sensation, maybe for an hour or so, then you don''t feel it anymore. Make sure you find a Doctor who isn't careless!!!

Yes, I received acid treatment for an outbreak. My doctor used vaseline on my unaffected skin around the warts to protect it and then applied the acid directly onto the warts. For me, it was painful. It really felt like I was being burned, but I was told that I could immediately use water to soothe it. That helped, and it only hurt right when she put it on. But everyobody is different. My boyfriend got the same treatment and said it was a piece of cake. In any case, I think you''ll make it through just fine.

i was at job corps when I got it from my boyfriend and i was really scared to go get them treated. the doctor told me the acid would hurt alot so i was shaking really bad and i had to squeeze the nurses hand but i went throgh with it and it did hurt a little bit but it mostly just stung. the doctor said it might take a couple times for them to go away but its supposed to work. if you are thinking about it i would recomend it because its effective from what i''ve heard and its not that painful.
