I don''t know what warts in the mouth look like or if there are any photos on the web. But I do know that you can have small bumps inside your mouth. You can have bumps in your mouth for a number of reasons. They can be tiny sores, cuts, etc. Also, there are large taste buds in your mouth. If you look way back on your tongue you will see several large bumps shaped in a V form. Those are tastebuds! Don't panic if you're seeing those because everyone has them. Hope this helps.

Wow - ive been to a number of drs and all of them practically laughed in my face when I floated the idea of possibly having hpv wart on my lips. When i wake up in the mornings my mouth and lips are sticky and i can see little bumps that are white when i pull my lips tight. Also, my lips just don''t feel right - tingly ever now and then. I have an appointment with a skin specialist in a couple of weeks: I think the chances of it being good news are slim.

A picture of what you might be experiencing is here: http://www.usc.edu/hsc/dental/PTHL501/QL/c_ql_34.html
Apparently its normal for the circumvallate papillae to get so big?

Here are all of the pictures I have found on the internet of oral warts and/or oral HPV. I hope they help answer some of your questions. Remember, there are many “normal” bumps in the oral cavity, but paranoia can really take a toll on you if you don’t know what you’re looking at. Just hi-lite one address at a time and copy and paste it into your web address box. If you have any questions or if you would like to email me please do not hesitate. I will help as much as I can, and I will be glad to do it. My email address is eternaldevotion1@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Question - I noticed wart looking things on my tongue about 2 weeks ago. I went to an ENT and he said that it''s normal (Circumvallae Papillae). No treatment necessary, nothing to prevent them, not sure what causes them.
Anyway, I think I should ask for some type of testing to be done, just to confirm. If so, what kind of test should I request? I'm not sure if Circumvallae Papillae spreads or not, but now they're on the walls of my glands, more are coming out towards the front of my tongue, and they're all over the sides of my tongue. They don't have that white look to them (like the pictures I've seen of Cir. Pap), they don't hurt, they're spreading, and my tongue is discolored. Everyone says Circumvallae Papillae is way in the back of your tongue, so that may not be what I have on my tongue since it's on the sides and appearing on the front. ???
I know most of you will blow me off thinking "it's not hpv, that's not common"... but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Anyone with warts in their mouth, please reply and let me know any and all info (your symptoms, what the warts looked like, treatment options, etc).
I thought I had my answer when I went to the doc, but now it seems I'm back at square one. :( Freaking myself out!
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

No but don''t even think about having oral sex with anyone with the virus don't let anyone give you oral if you have the virus, any stain. Don't be stupid like me. I have RRP and it is not nice. It is also fatal if the warts spread to your lungs. Your lucky if you only have genital warts. I guess that's how life is. You don't know what you have until it's gone. Please don't listen to this "RARE" crap everyone is talking about with 'throat warts' scientifically known as Recurrent Respiratory papilloma. please don't have oral sex.

"Hi, I as well am worried i have warts in my mouth, i have noticed these bumps underneath my tongue and on the floor of my mouth where the tongue attatches. they are sorta fleshy coloured, and sometimes are sorta clear. Sometimes when i brush my teeth, the bumps bleed, but the thing is i havent'' noticed these bumps in any other areas of my mouth, so i dunno if they are warts or not"
~I have the same problem as this: bumps underneath the tongue and on the oral frenulum. I have yet to see any pics of these being warts, are they?

Hi guys,
If you''re anything like me, after veiwing this forum you were at best discouraged and at worst terrified. So, after visiting my doctor and doing quite a bit of very worried research, let me tell you what I found out.
First off, genital warts very rarley pass to the mouth. This is a medical fact it is extremly uncommon to get genital warts in your mouth. My doctor told me she had never encountered a single case, though she has been practicing for many years and has had many patients with genital warts. Now, lets be honest here. Lots and lots of people have genital warts, and I am sure that many of them still have oral sex. It is unlikley you will get warts in your mouth from this. Warts react differently to different people's immune systems, and some people are simply more likley to get them then others. Obviously, if you are one of the few people who get warts in your mouth, it doesn't matter that they're rare because you have them. Its a risk, and everyone has to make their own decisions. But it is not a sure thing at all. Seccondly, as to RRP. It is estimated (according to the RRP website) that some five percent of people who have genital warts have respitory warts. Of those FIVE percent, somewhere less then 1 in 1000 get RRP. So. Before you freak out as I did, and start finding bumps everywhere and are sure that you've got this illness, please see a doctor. It will make you feel worlds better. Again, everyone reacts to this in their own way. It is still a risk, but by no means is it a sure thing. They are not sure what causes some people to get RRV, they think its some "subtle immune deficiency" that some people have, (so I don't know how you can can catch it from someone else, as to one of the posts above). Finally. People just have bumps in their mouths, for no reason at all. They can be caused by stress, or by a bacterial infection, or by eating the wrong kind of food. Don't self diagnose, you'll only cause yourself alot of undue agony. Hope this helps.

I don''t know if this will help anyone, but I wanted to try because I too have HPV and know how scary it can be. I was treated for genital warts months ago, and within the past week I noticed white, flesh colored bumps on the back of my tounge. I too freaked out and called my doctor who assured me that HPV does not live in the mouth. I hope that this helps someone.

Just so ya''ll know, circumvallate papillae are normal to have on the tongue. In fact, all people have circumvallate papillae at the back of their tongue, they are a type of taste bud. So, no, they don't spread.
http://www.doctorspiller.com/oral%20anatomy.htm
Look about 2/3 down on the page, and there is a picture of a normal tongue, with the circumvallate papillae.

For those of you concerned about white spots on the lips (which use to be me), I found this site very helpful: http://www.afraidtoask.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=foreskin&Number=135141&page=&view=&sb=&o=
It turns out that these white spots on an upper lip are most likely Fordyce Spots. I''m getting them checked for sure, but they look exactly like the first image. Hope this helps people sleep easier.

I have heard respondants say their doctors say hpv does not live in mouth. I am living proof it does. In the 2004 I found I had Base of tongue cancer. I did not smoke. A biopsy found HPV to be present. After intense Chemo and Radiation treatment I am one big side effect. Quality of life zero. In 2006 from no where I developed my first genital wart. Dr said you can carry virus for years before it raises its head. Now in 2007 I develop my first oral lesion. A biopsy revealed hpv. I am a straight male that indulged in oral sex in my youth. It took 25 years before it destroyed my life. Oral sex can kill. I am the luck 50% that it only destroyed my Quality of life and not my life period.

and again. all of this "not common" crap is for people who knows nothing of RRP. I am telling you from REAL LIFE, not from F!@king research. It may be true that only 2 or 3 types cause RRP but the other srains may cause cancer in the throat. There is no need for me to explain everything to you, if you know you have the virus or the other person may have it, please I repeat..please don''t let anyones genital area come close to anyones mouth area. My lady also has RRP because of me so I have a lot more to deal with. If you have it please don't kiss anyone on the lips you 'WILL' spread it to them. To hell with all this possible crap. don't be stupid. F all the 'maybe's'. F all the 'not common'. F all the 'rare'. When doctors say the word 'rare' to some people that means it may not be possible to transmit to others. So plesae don't listen to that crap. I'm telling you now. So don't say no one told you so.

can you get hpv in your mouth
|
|
|
I have been looking for pictures and information ever since I found out that I performed oral sex on a guy with active warts. THe best website I found was www.maxillofacialcenter.com. It has pictures of HPV on the tongue and gives a great explanation. On the tongue and mouth these are called-squamous papillomas. So you can look that up. Another form the STD form is called condolymas.
|
|
|
If the bumps last longer than a month without getting smaller, or if they get bigger, they are most likely either warts or the beginning/middle of oral cancer.

When I was diagnosed, my doctor gave me the same vague/wrong answers regarding oral transmission of HPV as so many others have reported getting. Most of the information I found on the Web initially, took the "don''t worry, it's very rare" position, and that confirmed what both my doctor and my boyfriend's doctor had advised. After reading the posts herespecifically the one's mentioning RRP (Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis), a term I'd never heard before--I did more research and found www.rrpf.org, the RRP Foundation home page. I've found it to be very informative and clear, as a non-medical professional. This could help those who are unclear about the risks of oral transmission make sense of the known facts. BTW, if you are newly diagnosed or new to hpvfaq.org, I would suggest first thoroughly reading through the information that is provided here via links and articles, as well as the message boards and FAQs.
Cheers!

First of all let me clear a misconception...because I was just diagnosed with Condyloma AKA Genital Warts AKA Venereal Warts....I went to the dermatoligist the Dr who diagnosed me and he told me that it HIGHLY unlikely to pass the Warts from youre genitals to youre mouth....however Ive been reading a lot of the forums about it and an kinda like puzzeled as to why my doc misled me.....however he also said if you have a normal immune system and that if you brush ur teeth regularly especially after giving an infected person oral sex...that its no possible to pass it to youre mouth.....and now Im seeing pics of ppl with the virus in the mouth, the tongue, lower lip etc...and I''m kinda like WTF.....BUT in any case Ive made an appt to see him again....Ive printed out the forums were Ive read about passing it on to the mouth and will see what the deal is...wether or not hes lied to me or what.....I will keep you all posted...I'm on this site regularly to keep those like me at ease and updated with the 411 on this Genital Warts...so no worries guys.....I'll keep u all posted

Can you all stop writing stupid Genital Warts on here please, your scaring everyone and alot of people are seriously scared. I want you guys to stop being diagnosed through the internet and getting scared over what you here. Yes you might have genital warts, so do i, but we are acting as if we are going to die, just relax. Firstly book a appointment with a octor or a clinic, tell them your uncomfrotable and scared, that way they will approach you in a sensible manner, and tell them you need a clear explanation of the specific genital wart virus. You can also be offered counseeling to help you over come the fear. Ive been batling with genital warts too, and recently have a small bump at the front of my tongue, but I aint going to stress myself to the point of suicide, thats not the answer. Guys please just relax, go to the doctos, they will figure out whats wrong and help you treat the infected areaa.
Remember this: Those with genital warts are not a minority, they are a majority. There are WORSE HPV situations out there, people are Genital Warts from aids for instance, and also have herpes (those NEVER go away).
Take vitamin C, drink plenty of water, stop smoking and drinking alcohol, use a tiny tiny (and i mean TINY amount of tea tree oil on a wart if your desperate (too much will cause insenitivity and irritation as ive learn on my own). Do whatever you belive will boost your immune system. We can get the bumps to go away by going to our doctors for treatment HOWEVER we can get rid of the VIRUS ITSELf by making our immune system strong enough to kill it.
SO:
Doctors:First Vitamins: Ever morning Smoke/Alcohol: Stop completely if possible Stress: Makes it worse (See a cousellor or psychologist if it gets to you feeling very low all the time, tearful for too long or even suicidal.
Dont Stress Go See A Doctor

Yo yo yo lol read this site a bit, my cheating harpy of a girlfriend got HPV from her other ''boyfriend' heh, awesome anyway yeah she goes what are these small lumnps. I who have those lil pore things on my shaft that are 'normal' thought nah its ok. anyway she tells me that its genital warts just before i go away. i had been having unprotected sex with her, she was on the pill. anyway, i get symptoms on my penis later bla bla , we both get treatment, hers seem to go away and stay away. so a few weeks ago i go down on her and i feel weird tingling on my tongue next day, that might have been like 1-2 weeks ago, anyway i look in mirror and cant see anytrhing, now i am looking in mirror and i can see 2 little lump things, they are flesh colour and not tongue colour, like skin beige / pink, and they are a bit larger than the normal taste buds surrounding it. i immediately fall into a swirling depression, heh, and find this thread, very interesting ,m the pics with the dude with MASSIVE warts on his mouth made me ill. that will not be me, not ill die before that happens. anyway im guna go to the clinic where i get treated for warts tomorro and get myself checked out and hopefully tell me i have like... i duno not a wart on my tongue. my immune system is Genital Warts, i smoke weed quite alot and dont do loads of exercise. anywayyyy ill repost here... maybe )

Ok I have come to the conclusion that I have to get checked out by a real doc not just planned parenthood, cause things are gettin a lot worse. Like before it was just little tiny bumps on my genitals and now i''m almost positive that it's spread to my mouth and tounge. They are like large flesh colored bumps in the back of my tounge near my throat. I have also got bumps some fleshcolored and one white one on the inside of my cheek. I was really scared when i was told i had genital warts a few days ago. I mean i was hystraical to the point that the doctors were begining to get alittle freaked i think. Anyways they gave me antibotics for like yeast infection that i also had and somethin else they said i had. it wasnt an std though. Anyways can those antibiotics cause whatever is goin on inside my mouth. They sent me home and told me to come back after the antbiotics were done and they would do somethin about the warts on my genitals. They didnt even look at my mouth so i could of had it then and not even of known but i dont think so. I think i just got them within the last couple days. Anyways i know i have to go to a real doc but i'm on my parents insurance and cant tell them. I'm 18. that would be just to much to handle. But i have to see a doc a real who will talk things through with me and all that stuff. I cant afford to go on my own. Should i tell my parents. My mom is still in shock about me not being a virgin. she just found out a couple months ago. What should I do!!!! Will insurance even cover this!! god i hope so thanks please let me know what you think

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen Why don''t you guys do a Genital Warts test? A blood test can detect many diseases far beyond normal consultation of a doctor. We are reponsible for ourself and our love ones. Try to get some test done instead of browsing websites and worry about your health. By the way, a moment of fun may lead to fatal life ahead. Try to love yourself before you love someone else. I wish everyone best of health.

this is not a question but its important!!! if your a guy and have a bump you need a biopsy!! its when they cut the bump and sent it to get results!! wemon can get a papsmear to know....and for wemon who dont have the virus they can now take 3 vacines to prevent exposure to the more severe forms of the virus but for men the onlything we have is biopsys cut it and test it!!!

IF YOU HAVE WARTS ON YOUR TONGUE- READ THIS!!!!!
Well, for warts on your tongue(i have some there)..if anyone has this. I know the right treatment for it, you can buy it at the store!!!!! Believe it or not The Freeze Away Wart treatment by Dr. Scholls works!!!! I used it twice under my tongue, for two days, one time each day, before I go to bed. And they are almost completely cleared!! I can''t believe it, I am so happy!!! It does say on the box not to use it on mucous membranes, but it is Sylilic acid- the same thing the Doctor uses. It costs around $20 bucks, but it's so worth it! Just be careful at first, read the directions, and dab on lightly to see how your skin reacts with it, then once you know, you'll be able to figure out how many seconds to hold the Q-tip thingy on it for. It does sting and burn, but it's a nice stinging burn, you can tell right off the bat that it's killing the warts. I'd say use it in two day intervals. I know it can sound ridiculous but it was something I was thinking of trying- because logically why WOULDN'T it work?!!!
I have NOT however used it in the genital area..for there I use Tee Tree Oil, and it IS working GREAT!!!! At first it does burn- first night that is. I soaked some gauze and slept with it over night, then dapped some on the next few nights..I can see and tell it's working!!!! You can buy all this stuff at a Walmart or a Target!

Hey guys, Many of you r stressing bout tiny and I mean tiny small, clear (skni coloured, translucent) bumps/blisters commonly found inside your lower lip, around your throat (but not on the roof of your mouth)perhaps the sides of your tongue or your cheeks. These r called Fordyce spots, here''s the link to a picture http://www.pxe.org/virtpat/docs/graphics/lip.gif Sometimes they appear on your mouth and genitals and could be yellow. Some people get sores on their lips or yellow clustered bumps that are visible. No need to panic, this happens due to your oil glands becomming more predominant. Hope this helped.

warts inside the mouth can be different colors and different shapes but DO NOT try to diagnos yourself cause to a STD doctor or gyno and get diagnosed because most likely it''ll be nothing and you'll be stressing over nothing...but to answer your question...warts are can be small, medium, large, pink, white and flesh color, and red and there are many shapes..also some are invisible thats why 75% of ppl that have HPV do not know some can only be seen under a microscope or what some doctors do is take regular vinegar and rub it on the suspicious area because vinegar makes the warts white...and yes you can have cuts, sores and blisters in your mouth, example: your jaw, upper lip, lower lip, crack of the mouth, and directly on the lips and at sometimes even on the tongue and it not be warts or cancerous...but just to be safe go to your gyno or a std specialist and get it checked out its better to be safe then sorry!

I got the bumps on the bottom of my tongue thing. I just noticed it yesterday, its probbaly been there for a few weeks at the least. Anyway ive been reading online for the last couple hours and it seems that it most likely is warts. Im affraid of it spreading so i should probably go see a doctor but im gonna try the dr. scholls thing. It sounds like it should work, and if it does it will be saving me alot of money and time. Ill post my results in a couple weeks.

I have genital warts and believed it has passed on to my mouth and under my tongue. They are small and skin colored but I know they were never there before I first found out I had hpv. This disease is devastating, I unknowingly passed it on to my partner before I ever noticed the symptoms and my ever since my life has changed horribly. I went to an ENT (Ears, Nose, and throat doctor) and he said this was unlikely to be oral hpv as it doesn''t appear to be a "typical" case. He however prescribed an anti viral medication, Zovirax, which is primarily used to treat herpes. Herpes is a virus, and I don't know if all viruses and anti-virals work the same but nevertheless i hope this medication helps.

I would like to thank the person who posted the message about white vinegar killing oral warts. I only applied it once to the oral wart using a Q-tip. I held it there for severel minutes. It stung pretty bad and afterwards too. Howevr immediately it turn from pink to black and the next morning it was nearly gone. since it was sore I skipped two days putting the vinegar on. I did that on Sunday and it is now thursday and the wart is gone. Thank you.

GETTING TESTED WITHOUT MONEY OR PARENTS. If you''re paranoid and for whatever reason don't have the resources for a regular doc, then grab your phone book, turn to the blue pages, and call your local health department. In most towns they offer free testing once or twice a week at a particular time. It's on a walk-in basis and private, you should make a habit of going every 6 months and before starting a new relationship.

to the person with the bumps on the outer lip that says their mouth is sticky when they wake up and the bumps tingle they are probably fordyce spots which are very common and not contagious.

I just went to the dermatologist with what I called "small excess flesh on my tongue". When I opened my mouth, to my surprise, he said it was a wart. He asked where my tongue has been and I laughed and he said, no I''''m serious, that''s from oral sex. It''s technically an std he told me. I''m really shocked and dismayed as I''m waiting for the results of the biopsy. I have only been sexually active with one person, about a year ago. He told me that he had been tested and came up negative for everything since the last time he had sex. He was with one person since then, but claimed to only use hands with that person and that couldn''t transmit that. I''m going to an std clinic soon to get fully tested for everything. I wish I had only asked to do so with my partner a year ago.
