Question:
I think I have what are called pearly papules, because i have never had sex before and i got these when i was about 13 before i had even hooked up with anyone. Is it possible to get genital warts without any hookups?

Hey listen, I recently turned 19 years old. I noticed the development of mine at around twelve. I got scared because this was around the time i first masturbated. I went to the doctor and and was diagnosed with pearly papules. they are only around the rim of the head of my penis. They WILL NOT go away no matter what so dont try anything, please, learn from my mistake, it was not pleseant. What i have done is given up on removal, and now i carry around a piece of paper in my wallet next to my condom that is printed off the net, it as all the stats on this Genital Warts and a picture of a similar infection, i show this to women when they get curious or spooked, it doesn''t always work but it gets you out of the weird stage were everyone thinks you are sick and contagious. I also explained to everyone i know and care about exactly what i have at different times when it was comfortable. They provide a lot of back up at parties and such and sometimes women even want to see them bad enough to hit on me, it isn't so bad living with them, but i had to man up and stop hiding them from everyone, that just leads to selibicy and performance anxiety during sex, due to the scare of her seeing them.........

mine went away by applying toothpaste to the affected area every night ! THIS WORKS !!!!!!!!!

No need to panic ppl I too have had papules since 12/13 (im now 24) spent my whole teens worried/embarressed because i didnt want to know what it was till i had to go to G.U.M for another reason to my relif the nurse assured me what they were and that its fairly common. I guess ive been lucky because the women ive slept with havnt noticed or said anything maybe its more common than i thought! Everything is normal i have 2 healthy children and a partner of 8 years which proves its not contagous

i just had an appointment with my doctor this morning and I asked them if they were an std and stuff and he said no they weren''t so no worries on that one guys, he said that those are caused due to friction between the forskin and the rim around the corona from masterbating or getting handjobs, i too have this problem and he said the only way that they will go away is it put off the masterbating and getting handjobs for about a few weeks, he said that if ur partner is gonna give you handjobs then to use a lubricant,

i had this thing for as long as I can remember. i was scared to go to the doctors. but i had to take a physical for my schools basketball team. and my docotor saw this Genital Warts. we started to talk and he its from jackin off and from the sweat that i get from playin basketball. he said to stand in fron of a fan for 20 min a day. it will help it go away. and if i stop jackin off.

Don''t worry about this things, they're inborn and not harmless, I've made sex many times and no girl pays attention to them, so just be cool. I don't think it's worthed to try to get rid of them, coz you can only do bad to your self... look at the bright side - they're exotic. :)))

These are natural and aren''t usually removed unless they are very pronounced and interfeing.
A dermatologist would be the doctor to ask for more specific information regarding papules.

I''ve had them since I was about 12/13. I'm now 34. There's nothing to worry about with them. They don't affect your sex-life AT ALL. It's also nothing to do with masturbation. Some guys just get them, like some people have freckles.

hey ppl, im 15 and have noticed these pp''s on me and I tryed that toothpaste fing just to see if it would work and surprisingly it has! it is extrmely hard to identify them now and impossible to feel. the disadvantage of this though is that the toothpaste can make the skin dry on the head after a few days. i have been using it every night for about 3 days and all my pp's have gone. i applied the toothpaste around the bottom of the head of the penis and i used quite alot. it gives a very cold feeling which is'nt relli that painful and it goes after about 10 mins. i have tried loads to get rid of these and this has been the only fing thats worked so far. gd luck boys, hope i have helped.

HI, the best way to cure pearly penile papules is to have a Circumcision done, I''ve had pearly penile papules since I was 12, now am 17 and just had a circumcision done, and it has improved the appreance of the papules. First of all the white stuff has cleared up because If a man has a circumcision, it obviously dries out the head of the penis and these gland areas, and they often become extremely difficult to find.
and the rows around the head of the penis have really shrinked and you can hardly see them.
Well I've had great results from this and I belive the only affordable cure is the Circumsision(it only takes 2weeks to heal).

This problem has really hurt my confidence when tryin to get more sexually active wiht any of my past girlfriends. I''ve had sex a few times but always did it in a way to hide it. I wish i could really get them removed. I tried podophyllin recently, I applied a lot of the acid, and after a week of burning and regrowth i see thme forming again, which really sucks. I read on a site that laser surgery actually worked in two cases, but I don't know if this affoardable, anybody got any idea on price?

I think what really depends is location. Mine is at the base of the shaft sort of disguised by hair so I've never had anyone notice but me...but regardless if it bothers you enough to stop yourself from sexual activity

i thought I was the only person in the world with this condition. years ago i went to the doctors and they reasured me that they could not be transmitted. he also informed me that they have tried laser removal before and it leaves terrible scaring, so just learn to live with it. chicks are cool with it usually when explained anyway.

I have been in a rather bad state of depression since i found out the reason my parents got divorced was becasue my father gave my mom herpes for their honey moon. *.* sheesh.

I''m 15 and only noticed these things since maybe last year, I was crapping myself about what they were, after i asked my girlfriend for help, she consulted a doctor whom said it could be an irritation from clothing, which i though could be true as i started to wear underwear less and less around that time (i find it more comftable without) so i wore my underwear, washing them in the same stuff and so on and they didnt clear up, since then i have convinced myself i had either AIDS genital Wats, ghonorria and all kinds of Genital Warts that isnt even possible, considering i am not sexualy active, today i stumbled apon this site and i find my answer, thank god.

Yes, dont feel bad about them , I was also scared when I first saw them, and I was afraid I had dome kind of STDs,but luckily I realized it was just PPP. I had em since I was 12(was still a virgin) now im 21 and they seem to have grown up with me! in number and size. I dont know how I got em. I have to say my sex life wasnt the best one ever. I always tried to avoid sex embarrased, but luckly the times I did have some, they never noticed.. even on oral sex... So I guess its not that bad. I first got PPP at puberty aged 11-12. All around my balls and up the shaft of my penis. Until about 20 mins ago I did not know what it was. I am 35 now! wow. I have been living with this for so long. Have always been afriad to tell a doc about them because all of my family is doctors and i didn''t want them to know. I got them before i had any sexual contact of any kind. What a weight off my shoulders! I have so many times shyed away from sex because of embarassment of this. Its good to know its not contagious.

You can''t accuse us GU Doctors of not being poetic or having sense of fun and imagination. However, the term pearly penile papules does describe them - it's like that tin of varnish, and it does exactly what it says on the box. Just take a look at the picture, where you will see those nice rows of small pearly papules all around the raised up bit at the head of the penis. See the picture - All men have some of them, some men have lots of them, and some have few, but if you look carefully you will always find these little dots all around the rim at the head of the penis. They are normal glands and cannot be removed. They produce tiny amounts of oily secretions that keeps the skin healthy.
