Question:

Is it safe to have sex with a person who has warts if they are not in the active(broken out) stage? Without wearing a condom?

Its only marginally safer to have sex with someone who has HPV with a condom. They can and do occur in places that a condom will not always cover and HPV remains in the skin even if the wart is removed.

Assume that you will be able to get HPV at any time from this person.

It''s possible they have the type of HPV that does not cause warts.

If you are male you won't even know if you have this type and can pass it on to others.

Something to remember: The majority of US population has HPV.
