Question:

How should I tell my boyfriend that I have Genital Warts. I had them when I started dated him and now he has them, but dont think really anything of it, so how should I tell him?

Forget the kill joys: It is so common that medically its almost an expected part of not being a virgin.

Most of the killjoys probably have it and if they wish to practice what they preach they should get a specific test for it before sleeping with their partners (as being a- symptomatic is absolutely no proof you don''t have it).

75% to 93% of people have the virus. This means its unusual not to have it (many people don't know they have it though so don't do a survey of your friends - read the medical literature if you want the facts - there is a lot on the web).

By the way - you have HPV and whoever you got it from didn't tell you!

I would ask you doctor about your question for any future partners to set your mind at rest.

I contracted HPV warts from a sexual partner who knew that he had them, but he had been treated before having sex with me and felt no need to tell me... even when I specifically asked him whether or not he was aware of any sexually transmitted diseases and whether or not he had been recently tested for STD infections. He said he HAD NEVER HAD AN STD and that he HAD BEEN TESTED. Well... three months later... warts started popping up. I happened to get a job at the doctors office where he had been treated... noticed his file and found out that he KNEW he had HPV for 3 years before getting together with me and just never bothered to tell me. Genital WartsED ME OFF!! You should be honest with your sexual partner. I understand the fear of rejection... but the person would think better of you for having been brave enough and considerate enough to be HONEST with them... whether or not they decide to pursue a sexual relationship. They should have the right to choose. Not you! I told my fiance before we had sex... I explained the risks and he loved me... so it doesn''t matter. But he respects me because I TOLD HIM FIRST!

listen to yourself, how would you feel if someone said the same thing about you, "I don''t really think anything of it"

That was so wrong of you to screw someone with out telling them you had warts. And it is even more wrong of you to let him go on like that. He should break up with you for not telling him about your problem and now he got it.

yes you should tell him cause its only right and how would you feel if you were him. Chances may be he knows something is wrong but doesnt exactly know how to confront you. But TELL HIM!

Be honest with him. the quicker you and your partner receive treatment, the better off you and the world will be. this is a very infectious - stop spreading this virus and get yourself treatment. also, a good idea for you is to research into this virus because it can cause serious complications.

I understand exactly how you feel I told my boyfriend I had it and now he is freaking out and doesnt know hif he wants to stay together. You might as well tell him now but if you look at it this way now you both have it so you might as well have it together!

Be straight up with the poor guy.

I got HPV from someone that was just as thoughtless as you. He knew he had it and never bothered to say a word until I started showing symptoms. Now, he is denying knowing anything about it.

At least you could have told him BEFORE you did anything sexually. So you don''t think anything of it, did it ever occur to you that maybe he never wanted an STD?

You sound like a lying, dirty skank and I hope he can sue you for willingly passing on an STD.
