Question:
Hello, I am so confused about this HPV infection. I have seen this small white looking spot or bump (whatever you call it) on the head of my penis for about 2 months. Finally, I go to a Urologist to check it out and he says its a wart. I dont know how I got infected because my girlfriend and I are the only people we''ve been with. How can any of us be infected or have the virus? She will be checked next month. But I am still very confused about all of this..?

Well... this is a stretch but still a really remote possibility. Since genital warts have been known to spread orally it is possible that one of you kissed someone in the past with a small wart on their mouth. At this point one of you two would have contracted the virus orally. The virus may not be seen but still present. Then when you kissed your current partner the virus passed from you to her. If she then gave you oral sex she could have passed the virus to your genitals... Strange scenario but once again not out of the realm of possibility.

I do strap one on EVERYTIME... but its ok anyway.. never got another after that and when she got checked everything was fine. again,, I guess it was a weird outbreak
|
|
|
Well ever since that. I have not gotten any more.. I''ve been normal.. I guess it was just some weird outbreak. dont know.

lol um maybe your gf isnt telling the truth when she says your the only one...

i would ask the urologist to biopsy the bump and send it to a lab for confirmation, it is possible that the urologist was wrong, they can test it to make sure it is hpv

One of you are cheating. Sit down and ask her!!

it is possible to be born with genital herpes from the mother. it could be possible that one of you was born with it. as easy is it is to contract from sexual intercourse, it is just as easy to pass on from the birth canal

I''''m a nurse & to make you feel better here is some sound medical advice. A lot of women can contract asymptomatic (no symptoms) HPV from partners at any time in her life. In fact, most women have it and may not know it. There are many strains of this disease. In fact, girls can contract it from their mothers if they have a vaginal birth and the mother has it. Sometimes women can contract it from their first unprotected sexual experience and let''s say that is at age 15, and it may also lay dormant for years. The odds are good that your partner hasn''t cheated on you. That is a common & ignorant misconception. The truth is that men can also contract and spread the asymptomatic virus. if a person with the asymptomatic type has unprotected sex with someone it can change into the other partner having genital warts. I know that this may not completely make you feel 100% about your situation I do hope that this will help you understand how tricky this disease can be. It also explain how women who are virgins can contract this virus too. I hope that this helps you to understand that about 90% percent of adults aged 16- 100 may have some strain of this virus and may not know it. In fact, two of the asymptomatic and many of the symptomatic strain can cause cervical cancer in women. Hang in there, she is going to nedd just as much TLC regarding this issue as you will. You need to support each other and not judge or jump to conclusions. I hope this helps. :)
