Question:
I have gotton 3 acid treatments for my genital warts at the gyno. They become white and very soft so I peeled them off. Now I am very irritated and red, and there is contant pain and discomfort. What can I do to speed up the heeling time?

apply vitimin E out of capsule.

Acid treatments are painful - I have had four myself. It took me almost two weeks after each treatment to heal and feel normal again. There is no way to speed up the healing process, just gotta tough it out. Make sure after your treatments that you are thoroughly washing the acid off - try soaking in a bathtub to be sure bc if you don''t get it completely off it will begin to irritate you the way it sounds like it is. If this is really bothering you, I wouldn't recommend Aldara either. Personally, I opted for cryotherapy after the acid and aldara weren't working. For me, this was the best decision - it hurts like the acid treatments, but with no side effects - by that night I was pain free and now wart free after one treatment! I would look into this method..... good luck :)

Next time, do not peel of the white spots, let them fall off on their own. To help with the irritation, pain, and discomfort, ask your gynocoloist to prescribe some Lidocaine (2% topical gel) that can be applied directly to the affected areas to relieve the pain.

I had a similar problem mine also included swelling, I began taking anti-boitics (pescribed) and within 6 hours of the first pill all pain went and swelling reduced.. SEE YOUR DOC!

It is better to let them wash off themselves in water {taking a bath} opposed to ripping them off when they aren''t ready... If you had a scab on your arm & ripped it off it would get irritated. [[i am not a doctor, but from several personal experiences]]

I recently just had an acid treatment and the doctor prescribed a burn cream for after the warts fall off. Its called Sulfadiazine cream and it makes the burning and irritation so much better.

when I had my first acid treatment, i did the exact same thing. dumb choice, but i learned. my advice is to put A & D ointment on it. that should make it feel better and heal quicker.

My doctor told me to soak in baking soda and lukewarm water. So I did that every night before going to bed and then dry it off really really well as best you can considering the pain. Then sit without underwear and let it air dry. I found that helped for me. I have felt your pain it is horrible and not something you can talk to just anyone about. I had to work the same day of treatment I do a lot of rushing walking around it was one of the hardest days of my life.
