Question:
I have noticed small white dots on my lips they do not surface only appear when lips are spread. My skin on my lips also seems to be peeling along the line of where my lips close. I have no signs of genital warts. The dots on my lips are not clustered nor grouped. Is it possible for it to be another form of warts that are passed from hand warts?

I have the same thing! Its only on my upper lip, and these spots can only be seen when I stretch the skin, and they are clustered. They do not hurt, but tingle a little someitmes. My lip is alsoa little more dry than usual. Could this be HPV? I don''t know that I have been with anybody that has that. But I also have a similar condition on my vagina. (sensitive part). The bumps there are also small and clustered, but not bothersome. Does anybody know what this is?

I have the same problem. I got it from my boyfriend. I didn’t think it was contagious. He has very visible white bumps on his upper lips mines started to appear lately when I stretch upper my lips. I am worried about the genital area mostly . Is there anyone knows what this is? It is not genital wart the doctor and the lab tests said but why is it contagious then?

I have a similar problem and I have not ruled out it being HPV because none of the 7 or 8 Doctors I''ve seen have
given me a good answer

They are normal. some type of gland that resides in the lips dermise. Everyone has them, they freaked me out when I first saw em! lol

I also have small dots on the side of my bottom lip. I have no idea how long the dots have existed but I noticed them yesterday and have been freaking out to find an answer since. I''m terrified to go to the doctors and find out that I have an STD even though my boyfriend said he would go with me. If anyone has any insite on what this is please post!

I JUST noticed I have the same things...I am actually REALLY bothered by this..again I dont have an answer only the same question as everyone else.....hopefully someone will find out what the hell we have.....

White Spots on Lips
These white spots are basically called Fordyce''''s spots, named after the American dermatologist, John Addison Fordyce. It is also called the Fordyce''s Disease.They are typically painless, raised, white or pale spots or probably bumps maximum around 3 mm in diameter. Along with lips, these appear where there are sebaceous glands, in tandem with hair follicles. It is found very commonly in men and women across all age groups.
White spots on lips, a kind of ectopic sebaceous gland, are mostly found on the vermilion border of the lips. Not associated with any illness or disease, these are merely of a cosmetic concern. These are non-infectious and are a natural occurrence on the body. White spots on the lips are quite the opposite of dark spots on the lips and whatever is applicable for dark spots, might not be for white spots.
Causes of White Spots on Lips
The reasons for the occurrence of fordyce spots is medically termed as ''idiopathic''. This means that the reasons are pretty obscure and ambiguous. In addition to this, neither this condition is contagious nor is it caused by any virus, contrary to a belief held by many, specifically in case of fordyce spots on the genitals. As mentioned earlier, white spots on lips are widely found in men and women across all age groups. These white spots on lips are seen or rather appear in a symmetrical group of upto 100 or as a single lesion. However, even if there is no known cause, it could happen that white spots on the lips, if they are very prominent and are giving you discomfort or the likes, there could be an underlying medical condition. So its better to get them checked, if you feel that there is something wrong.

I wouldn''''t worry about the small white dots being sexually transmitted, because I have them too and I haven''t had sex before. I read somewhere that the white dots are pretty normal, and some guys have them below their shaft. I''m not sure about the peeling though.

Hello, my name is Valery. I had the same problem time ago and didnt take examination. All I can say that there will be bigger spots and even more - I currently have spots on ass, penis, ears, one big white spot on the tip of the nose. Spots are also spreading to my buttocks :( I really dont know what''''s the problem. Can I have sex with this condition ?

Its is more than likely that is a symptom of HPV. When I contracted it from my ex boyfriend thats when i noticed the spots on my upper lip. So if you have noticed it, then my guess is that you have contracted the STD and should get to a doctor to get tested. There is no cure for HPV, prevention is the only cure. Peace out.

everyone calm the Genital Warts down. small white dot clusters on lips and genitals are from excess oil. It is not spreadable nor is treatment required. It is way benign. Stop blaming your b/gf''''s before you breakup over a mistake.

Everyone will have this issue one day is seems. Spreading way to fast. Before we know too many will have dry lips white spots. I am seeing it all over the internet and no one knows. We are victims and survivors of this.I recently in the last year have gotten dry lips & tiny white spots and also know that I have HPV high strain (not the wart strain). I had cervical cancer at the age of 26 and that was 3 years ago. It is spreading fast and no one knows for sure but I have a sick feeling it is all HPV related even if the Dr. isn''''t sure. After all, why do they call it "practicing medicine." Carriers need to not be so unsure. We need to educate all those around us. It is an STD that is still being very much studied!
