Hi, My Dr. has told me that the HPV is in my DNA, and that I am in the 10% of women that the outbreaks will keep coming back. Is this true? what can I
Hi, I recently found out that I had HPV. My Dr. told me I had both high and low risk hpv. What he told me was I might not even get any out breaks even though I have the type that causes it. He said for me to start taking vitamins daily, like centrum, and also take Vitamin E daily. You would not believe how Vit. E helps your immune system. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

10%?
the outbreaks can keep coming back with anyone who has HPV, and approx. 80% of sexually active ppl have it, so there is a lot more than 10%
Just take care of yourself and it will minimize breakouts.

That's a very odd thing for a doctor to say. DNA... HPV is localized in the skin area that it shows up in. It doesn't go anywhere else. It could come back, but it also may not.

Hpv Isn't a genetic affliction, however it is becoming more prevelent. Health plays a huge part in reoccurances though, vitamins are great, but zinc and selenium are brilliant, but just remember to NOT expect an immediate difference.

Hello, Your doctor used a new kind of test where the DNA is tested for viral load. They combine a papsmear with a DNA Test to find out which strain of HPV you are carrying. Check the website www.Digene.com Apparently, Only a few strains of HPV are high risks for evolving into cervical dysplasia's and should therefore be monitored by anual pap smear. Since you have been tested, your doctor should at least have information on which strain you carry and be able to tell you which ones are high risk and which aren't. However, this knowlege seems obsolete since an anual pap smear is the way to monitor dysplasia and catch it early if it does form.
Good Luck
