I was wondering if anyone has ever went through the acid treatment to remove warts? If so, was it painful or an easy type procedure to handle?

The procedure was very easy. I was treated with podyphillin. They basically just paint it on the affected area and put some talcum powder around it so it doesnt spread or drip anywhere else. Usually the doctor tells you how long to keep it on. I kept mine on for 4 hours then showered. This treatment didn't help me, but quitting smoking and eating fruits and vegetables eventually did.

I'm a female and they used a different type acid on me. The warts that were present on me you could hardly see. But the procedure itself was a litte painful at first, painful meaning it stung a little, but your body will get used to it and you won't feel it as much. It take a couple of treatments sometimes depending on your case. But you'll be fine! Just take care of yourself.

Hmm, I had the acid treatment, and it did sting for up to ten minutes (it was more of an ache after a little bit), and then I was fine. You'll form a scab of course, so just leave that alone while it heals. Unfortunately for me, mine came back, so I'm considering going in again. It was a quick procedure though.

I had the acid treatment to remove a few tiny warts and I have had no more breakouts and that has been almost 2 years ago. It did sting a little for a minute or two. This treatment worked great for me

Yes, I received acid treatment for an outbreak. My doctor used vaseline on my unaffected skin around the warts to protect it and then applied the acid directly onto the warts. For me, it was painful. It really felt like I was being burned, but I was told that I could immediately use water to soothe it. That helped, and it only hurt right when she put it on. But everyobody is different. My boyfriend got the same treatment and said it was a piece of cake. In any case, I think you'll make it through just fine.

When I was initially treated with acid, I only had one localized cluster which had not spread in the few months that I had it pre-treatment. However, within a week or so of starting treatment, the warts spread all over my genital and anal regions. Luckilly for me, my local Planned Parenthood was conducting research on a drug, PEN 203-206, which was not painful and, more importantly, quite effective. I do not know if the drug has been approved by the FDA yet. I do know, however, that since the completion of the non-acid treatment, I have gone 1.5 yrs with out a break out.
