Yes, HPV can be transfered through genital contact. If someone touches you in a spot you have it and then touches themself in a vulnerable spot - then yes its possible.
If I was concerned about coming into contact with HPV then I wouldn't have any sort of sexual behavior with the person.
Personally, now that I'm a little more familiar with HPV and realize that as many as 50%+ of the sexually active population have it- I'm more focused on being healthy and preventing any outbreaks.
