About 10 months ago i started talking to a girl that was amazing. For 10 months now everything has been great, we pretty much lived together and were starting to get very serious. About a month ago i noticed a small bump starting to form, at first i didnt say anything because I wasn't sure what it was so i figured i would give it some time to see what happens. Finally i told her and and went to the doc. She was nieve and didn't think it was anything, but i know my penis and that wasn't supposed to be there. Anyway, after the doc told me what it was, I was devistated. I didn't know how i was going to tell her that i had an std and i was sure I had given it to her. Today I still dont feel like leaving my bed. If anyone has any advice or anything it would be appreciated.

I think I got HPV from my boyfriend. He had no idea he had it and I didn't even know what it was. If up to 80% of people have this, one never really knows where they got it. If you're honest and get good medical treatment, I don't see how you're at fault. This virus is usually very treatable. Don't worry too much!

Just be honest with her. If she cares for you then it will work out and she needs to know how you feel.

Although I'm not in your exact situation, I know how you feel. You did not do this intentionally and this is a tricky evil virus. She will understand hopefully but if she doesn't then you must move on and not dwell. It really makes me sad to see how this virus depresses people so much..myself included. It's stupid to say but I would have felt better losing a finger or something.

Reading your story hits close to home.I have recently found outI have hpv.I was dating a guy and we had unprotected sex.When it was time to do my pap again I found out I had it.I am not blaming him nor myself . But it hurts knowing I might have lost him as a friend.

nhs - uk - say that 70% have hpv but in reality it could be more like 99% if unreported and undiagnosed cases are to be included... so i suppose we are not alone...though i still feel bad anyway...

I felt the same way you did when I found out I had this disease.I still don't know if I got this from my boyfriend or if I had already had this and gave it to him. I mean I have onlt ben w/ 2 people,but we have dealt with this and we are still together. good luck
