It might and probably does but I haven't seen anything drastic happen and I do it often since I'm not having any sex. I guess it's better than infecting others???

Rubbing is known to stimulate wart growth. So do moisturizers. BUT...as you pointed out, what the heck are we supposed to do? Try masturbating when the symptoms are not there...you know, between wart eruptions?

I would think it's true because I was having protected sex with my ex- boyfriend and we were using lube-I found that I couldn't get wet when I had an outbreak-and it would just make it worse. Maybe because there contagious and the virus spreads easier?

Warts like moist areas in general : ( I think that's why guys who have hpv virus on the tips of their penis don't generally have outbreaks because it's nice and dry there, whereas a vagina....!!!
