Can I still pass warts if I don't have any anymore?

I recently got rid of my gential warts-I'm a woman-and I was wondering if I can still give it to a partner even if we have protected sex. My doctor say's no but I'm not so sure. What do you guys think? They've only been gone for about a month... How long until you can't spread the virus anymore? Will anyone who sleeps with me contract it?

Your doctor is wrong. You may have
gotten rid of the warts but you can
still transmit the virus. You might
have another re-occurrence as well. I
think your immune system can clear the
virus after time but I have no idea
how long that may be after the last
reocurrence.

One weird anecdote I have to tell is
that my mother had a case of GW
(external) way back and they cleared up
and she didn't pass it on to my Dad or
stepdad so WTF???

Maybe those guys are asymptomatic?

Who knows... I guess the thing that
bothers everyone the most is the
visible lesions. My brother has "cold
sores", but he hasn't had a recurrance
for over 6 years, and he hasn't passed
it on to his wife.

It's confounding because everyone's
immune system is different.

No one seems to come out and say it
but outside of RRCP it seems that if
you have no more breakouts after a
long period of time it seems like your
immune system cleared it and it's
actually gone for good. But again,
I'm no doctor.

I think that's what we want to believe
rather than the reality. If the virus
can lay dormant for 10 years or more,
who's to say we're ever clear?

Then again, if a lot of people are
misled into thinking that they're clear
and are spreading it - why should we
care?

yy, I'm looking for statistics on how
long the virus can be dormant for after
you have not had a reocurrence in a
long time...do you know where I can
find this??
