SO I went to the doctor...

Hi everyone, got to the doctor and as soon as he seen the bumps I was worried about he immediately said that they weren't HPV. Can they tell that quick with just a quick glance? He really didn't seem to look hard or care much...I told him I used a condom but was worried that I got it from skin contact. He said no way, but for some reason my nerves aren't settled. Do you guys think that I should ask the last 2 girls I slept with if they had anything? And how would I bring it up. I was really hoping for an acetic acid wash but he said there was no reason. I want and should be happy but feel like I wasn't given a good explaination nor was the visit that calming. Anyways, just to let everyone know, since these past few weeks have past I am really happy to have been part of this understanding community and I've decided to head back to school and find an advisor that will help me study HPV and find a vaccine or preventable measure. Let me know about all this blabbering...sorry guys...

How long did it take u to see those
bumps at all ??? did it take weeks or
months or years so they tell me ASAP .

How long ago did you sleep with those
girls..this doesnt' pop up over-
night. Furthermore, keep watching
them...my doctor said the same
thing...she was wrong....I had it.

Don't say ANYTHING to the girls. In
my case, my gut told me I had the
virus, two doctors told me I didn't.
Finally saw a dermotologist and he
confirmed that I did. Go to an STD
clinic or dermotologist.

Don't tell the girls because they may
go blah, blah, blah... Besides nobody
seems to know who they got HPV from.
It's almost impossible to identify.

The other thing is a lot of people are
carriers and don't even know they're
spreading HPV, so asking will probably
not get you anywhere anyway.

I have been extremely disappointed by
the medical establishment's attitude
towards my problems, they keep telling
me I don't have it but all the
available info is too convincing. I
mean, how big do the bumps have to be
before they say yes? I think a lot of
drs are ignorant, which just makes
matters worse.

Alot of doctors are ignorant and have
no idea of anything regarding HPV.
Lot of false info out there.

There are alot of doc. out there that
are ignorant about hpv. I also have
very tiny bumps on my penis for the
past 2 years. Every doc. I saw, 7 to
be exact, basically blew me off. I
have read tons of articles that says
genital warts can be so small that
they can only be seen with a magn.
glass. Well mine are big enough to be
seen with the naked eye and several
docs. said they were too small to be
warts. Makes me wonder how they
aquired their medical license?

Thanks everyone...I felt non-assured
when I went. I will definitely go to
a health unit specializing in std's.
Thanks...and to answer some of the
question, they showed up about 2-3
months afterward and I will not say
anything to the girls. It pissed me
off because I asked for an acid wash
and the doc said not to worry...go home

Sorry I just wanted to add that the
only time he gave me some respect was
when I told him I had a biochem degree
and started referring to things in
scientific terms...I hate how some
people are so closed minded. For a
complication so world known as STD's
Dr.'s sure in hell don't seem to be
donig their part to stop the
problem...Thanks ya wankers.

follow your gut feeling. what does the
doctor really care about you if he
brushes aside your concerns? you're
just another 5 minutes in his day.
