I've known I had the virus since April 2003 and have told exactly 3 people about it - with the exception of doctors. It seems that people who either don't have the virus or DON'T KNOW THEY HAVE IT are ignorant about HPV. One person thought it was genital herpes and thought I got it because I failed to use a condom. (sigh!) In either case, these experiences do not encourage me to tell anymore people about it as I really can't be bothered to provide them with a full explanation of the virus - nor do I think people are willing to listen or have the capability of understanding it. Very discouraging :( I understand that some people will not leave a partner just because they have HPV but that's another issue. It's the misunderstanding that bothers me. I don't want people to think I have herpes or a new kind of HIV or to jump the gun and think that I have some rare disease. The problem is people don't listen to what you're saying in general (no matter what you're talking about) and it really is disturbing when you tell people you have HPV and they think it's something else because they weren't really paying attention.
I suppose it's best to just learn to live with HPV without having to tell anyone - unless you can be bothered with it. (sigh!)

So, in that case, you better share your opinions and thoughts with people under the same condition as you, which means "US" your friends from this kind of club. That's why we're here, to help ech other. Everyone of us is gonna pay atention to every single word you say, right, so stick to it whenever you feel ignored, bothered or upset.

Thanks Hector. I think I'll stick to my friends here from now on. My warts are in recession now and have been for a while. Hope you're doing reasonably well too.

you're doing a favor to everyone you tell because if they have sex, there's a good chance they're next. if they don't listen, they're fools. but, yeah, t alk to us. we got your back.
