Worried about DNA testing

Hey Everyone It's Maggie. I'm going to see the doctor on Thursday to get HPV DNA tesing done, and speaking with the nurse practitioner scared me a little. I have had several abnormal paps, but the lab results are very inconclusive every time. I even had a biopsy, but that didn't tell me anything more than the previous results. Anyway, I've been really lucky in my experience overall. I've only had one outbreak, and I feel very healthy and uninfected. However, my talk with the nurse practitioner made me realize that I may get news that I don't expect. What if I do have a cancerous strain?? I guess I wanted to post this so that you guys could go through it with me so-to-speak. Any positive words would help, and I'll let you know the results as soon as I do! Thank you!

What if you have a cancerous strain?
That sure is thinking the worst. So
being as proactive as you are you've
caught it early and bam! You kill any
malignant cells. You have nothing to
worry about, you're a healthy woman
and you're doing all the right
things. Let us know how it goes,
don't forget!

Well if you had an outbreak of warts
wouldn't that imply that you had a low-
risk strain to an extent?? Best of
luck to you regardless!

Keep your chin up -- even if it is a
high-risk type, by catching it early
you've almost guaranteed yourself a full
recovery. You should be proud of
yourself for dealing with this so well.

I may be wrong or mis-informed; but I
thought that if you have warts that is
a totally different strand from the
cervical cancer. Im not sure-but I
think I'm right...

From what I understand about this
virus is that warts are a type of
benign cancer(not bad) even the ones
on the outside. Also, I have learned
that when you have abnormal paps it
means that the virus is on the inside,
which is the warts. I don't know but
from what I gathered is that the warts
inside are subclinical so that is why
they come up on the paps.

I appreciate everyone's input. I'm not
sure about the if you have warts then
you don't have a cancerous strain
thing. I think anything's possible, so
i wouldn't count myself as exempt from
that possibility. Nontheless, you're
all right, and I guess it won't help to
make assumptions. I just have to wait
and see. I'll let you know. Thanks
again!

Maggie,

Did you get your results yet?

Thank you so much for asking. The
answer is not, but I just had my
appointment this morning. It'll
probably be at least a week before I
hear anything. I really will post how
things go. Thnaks again for caring :)
