After being diagnosed with BP I started scanning lots of websites for pics of this condition. I came across this one:
http://www.dermnet.com/virusinfectionsclinic/bowenoidpapulosis1/webpics/
This is certainly what I have. Doesn't seem to be a "wart" type of HPV, but nonetheless HPV. Does anyone else have experience with this? Is this type contagious? I read that masturbation/sex worsens it. That seems to be true. I have only masturbated a few times, and had sex with my wife, with a condom, once since being diagnosed. And the infected areas become red and flaky and extremely itchy, within 30 minutes afterwards. But, is there no way to safely let the pressure off? Not to mention that my wife, although patient, will eventually get tired of me saying that I still cannot do it. What a disaster. I tried Aldara for one month but it seemed to irritate the areas even worse and now the spots have spread to my scrotum. Great!
I really cannot afford to pay the price for that stuff anyway.
I had two places lasered away but that doesn't seem to be a viable solution when I look at the scars left in those two places. I would have to laser the entire surface of my scrotum, the shaft and glans of my penis away. Any info is considered helpful.

have you tried cryotherapy? What kind of doctor are you going to? How much Aldara were you using? It should be only on the wart and not too much, also no more than 3 times/week especially if you have irritation.

You might have something else because me and my husband are still very sexually active. I would go back to the doctor and see what else you can find out. Hope it works out for you. Love in Christ!

Here's a tip..don't masterbate with certain kinds of lotion I found...makes itching and redness horrible. Sounds weird but I use hair conditioner now...not shampoo..just conditioner.

Well, if there's not gonna be sex anytime in the near future for me I figure this is the best way to deal.

conditioner works here too, I think theres actualy vaild proof somewhere that one of the chemicals in conditioner actualy is hpv fighting, so thats a bonus too. don't quote me on that.

You guys are a riot. But please keep the advice coming. I seem to be suffering from an overdose of the Aldara. It has cooled off somewhat but I am thinking that I have to take it very easy with that stuff. But it seems that the HPV (in my case the BP) is just in too many places to laser, so I have only the choice of Aldara or Efudix
