I'm really almost done with it as far as I'm concerned. I am more worried about healing scar tissue at this point.

Craig, what does the tissue look like? Very noticeable? Do most people heal quickly?

looks slightly darker. It's healed relatively quick but of course I would like all of my skin to look the same.

I didn't have any for about a year after the initial freezings, then I got one small one, then none since then, so I guess I got one wart in about the last 1 1/2 years. I really don't think about it much, once you stop getting them it becomes a non-issue, though I will tell someone I plan on having sex with, which doesn't seem to happen often he he.

Can anyone tell me if they have tried any of the products online and how did they work?

My roommate had them removed in one or two office visits by freezing I believe. Aldara wasn't out then.

I'll let you know, the last small wart I had I used Aldara. After one week I could not longer see it. Key is to get them when they are small with Aldara. When they get a little bit bigger, freeze them to death.

stay away from online crap. It is all a gimick. If anyone on this forum says anything positive about how they cleared them right up, it's probably the advertisers.

The online products prey on people who are scared and desperate to try anything.

Could someone tell me if I will forever have to use a condom ,even if I am married?

Sarah
Firstly, condoms don't do much in terms of preventing HPV transmission. Secondly, most people clear the virus from their systems in a couple of years. So, I don't see any reason you'll need a condom forever to prevent HPV.

(cont'd) It is up to the individual if they want to try to do everything possible to protect a partner from getting HPV infections. Sometimes it doesn't matter, in the big picture.

No, no one on this site is going to need to use condoms after they are married :) Sometimes it feels that way, right? But Sara is correct condoms won't stop the transmission and you will most likely clear this out of your system in a few years...after 10 years you will no longer be contagious. For now, keep your pants on and take care of yourself.

I'm from Australia and my doctor said quite the opposite of keeping our pants on for 10 years. He said that this virus is SO common - most people have it - and there is no way you should give up your sex life because of it. He just said always use condoms unless a partner knows you have it and is willing to have unprotected sex anyway.

...I just meant for us to keep our pants on while we have big scabby nasty warts that might be in the middle of treatment. Once we're clear just be careful and be honest, you know?

I'm the Aussie. Yeah it is true. I said to him, "how can I have sex with someone - even WITH a condom - and know that there is a good chance I'm giving them the virus?" He just repeated that there is such a high probablity that they will come into contact with the virus at some time in their lives, so avoiding sex with me was just kind of putting off the inevitable.

Well, I know I am from the great USA,but I have never in my 50 years heard of anyone have warts on their genitals. But the Aussie comment is comforting to know. I felt like I almost had Aids.

I have been with only one man for the last 4 years and the same man for 30 before that. The Doctor told my fiancee that we could have gotten the warts some warts on his back. The doctor said,he could have scratched a wart on his back and then when to the bathroom and transfered the wart to his penis and then to me. Does that sound strange?? It did to me,but I guess anything is possible.

From what I have read and learned the warts that form on your skin and the warts that attack the gentials are two differnet strains. The strains that cause gentiatl warts like the moist area and the type of skin around the genital. That is why it is so rear we get them in other place on the body.
