everyone has this annoying disease

So yes; after all the "sex-ed" and all the lectures, I had no idea about how popular, or how easy it was to contract this annoying and embarassing disease. Im a 20 yr old female, a serious boyfriend of 7, yes 7 years, and i had to go cheat on him, and bring this thing back to him. Too bad for me that i only found out that 80% of all sexually active people have this disease, and that you dont need to have an outbreak to spread it only after i got hpv. I was the girl that always did oral to "inspect" my partner before slapping on a condom. Let alone that this horrible disease is able to be spread while wearing a condom. I wish my teachers/friends/doctors would have let me know that "safe-sex" is not a real term. So unless everyone knows everyone else that everyone has had sex with, we're all just gonna keep spreading genital warts to all sexually active people. Now, i have told all of my friends, and they are scared and disgusted that we had all been so ignorant of the subject. And I have gone through many gyno appts. to get rid of them. But i guess it was useless to even go because, girls arent supposed to shave down there when they have hpv, nor smoke and etc. Well, I had to shave, and I smoke a pack a day. I started taking all vitamins, eating better, and some exercise. But after all that crap, the best thing, and the thing that made everything go away... was stress relief. I started yoga again, talking to my bf about all of it, talking to my mother, and just relaxing. My 2 warts that wouldnt budge for months, disapeared totally. So if u cant stop your smoking, and your're not going to change your lifestyle, there could still be hope. Relax, stop having sex for a while and go have fun.

if I could get rid of just an ounce of
the stress i go thru everyday, hell, I
would never get sick. I try, but it
never seems to work.

i agree totally. unfortunately it isnt
that easy. i try not to stress, i no
longer stress about the warts, i stress
about just LIFE, money, school, work..
etc... they should have a wart free
resort for us to go to for a month to
get rid of them...i think that would do
the trick for me!

Stop smoking moron! The warts are the
least of your problems. Smoking will
cause all kinds of complications. I
know it's tough but shit, at least cut
down to a few smokes a day.

tony how old are you?

2/13/2004 1:48:40 PM - Sorry
What bothers me is : every time I tell
anyone they immediately think I have
genital warts.That is what sex-ed
teaches! So you look for the
warts ,that never come and think you
don't have it! So 2 years into a
monogamous relationship I have an
abnormal pap smear and they found it on
my cervix. What's even scarier is the
fact that the nurse said my dysplasia
was so minuscule that she had to use a
special device to see it!

I am in complete agreement with you
guys! I am so shocked at how
prevalent this disease is, but how
rarely you hear it discussed.
Everyone wants to talk about HIV, but
that is a pretty rare disease in
comparison to this! I am also
disgusted that no one took the time to
tell me about this before I was
infected. I guess we can all learn
from this and make sure our friends
and family have the right info!
