SMOKING

I'm a smoker (planning to quit)and I was wondering if anyone else has quit smoking and noticed a real difference all around with HPV?

cwissy grrrrrrllll you have got to quit
smoking! If your warts wont do it for
ya, do it for your heart (check out
glamour and cosmo this month!) smoking
is really bad for the immune system in
general and you will notice such a
difference when you hop on the
treadmill or whatever you do for
exercise! I have never been a big
smoker except for when i am TRASHED,
and i have given up that too and i just
feel better all around.

bars, smoke, smoking, alcohol arent
good for your immune system. You only
get one body, so treat it good!

I was told that (if you are a female)
that smoking will increase your risk of
cervical cancer, ESPECIALLY if you have
HPV, because you are already at a high
risk. Quit smoking for your overall
health, and make sure to get your paps
every year.(Dont we all love those dr
visits)

1/23/2004 9:51:18 AM - Cwissy
Thanks Blondee and Missinmontana. I'm
gonna start the patch. Wish me lots of
luck.

1/23/2004 11:09:48 AM - blondee
i am so proud of you. take it one day
at a time. start looking to other
hobbies to destress running, working
out of some sort, reading, yoga, karate
maybe, knitting, crocheting whatever it
takes. YOU CAN DO IT! I have faith in
you!

1/23/2004 3:08:23 PM - Cwissy
I have no time for hobbies. I work 60
hours a week and Saturday and Sunday
I'm at school for 8 hours. So by time I
get home I'm dead to the world. Have a
glass of wine and fall out.
Boy I can't wait til spring
break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!! and summer vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miami, Cancun and Italy, I can't wait
til I see yah.

1/23/2004 3:14:35 PM - cwissy
Blondee, I'll let you know how my first
day of not smoking goes. I know, I KNOW
I haven't started yet. Monday, I
swear :) I need sometime to bid
fairwell.

1/23/2004 6:07:41 PM - Craig
Cwissy-Italy? Tu parli l'italiano?

1/23/2004 6:19:39 PM - blondee
I had a friend that quit smoking 3 yrs
ago. He still can remember the time
and place of his last cigarette. And
the taste.. and the feel. not a
smmoker so i dont know how that goes..
but i know its hard.

1/23/2004 6:49:04 PM - Craig
Smoker's breath stanks

1/24/2004 12:01:18 AM - Cwissy
Spiacente Craig, io parli l'inglese. Tu?

1/24/2004 12:05:47 AM - cwissy
And yes I am a smoker but by breath
don't stank Craig. I'll show you
sometime ya freak!

1/24/2004 7:50:55 AM - Captain G
HEy Cwissy, it might not stink to you,
but try quitting for a few weeks, then
kiss someone after they've been
smoking all day. Even after they've
brushed their teeth, chewed gum etccc
you'll prob still taste the fowl smoke
residue in their mouth.

1/24/2004 10:59:57 AM - Portugal
Hi there! Just been diagnosed with
Genital warts and I'm a SMOKER!!! I
think this is definitely the time to
quit so can anyone help me out here?!?
What's the best way? patches / gum
etc? Man I really need to quit. Thanks

1/24/2004 7:10:56 PM - Cwissy
Portual, I'm starting the patch. I
think it's better then going cold
turkey. There's also a medication (some
what of a anit-depressent)that helps
you stop also. I'd rather use the
patch, if not I will see my Dr. about
the medication.

Best of luck!

1/24/2004 8:50:43 PM - Tracy
I think that the Commit losenges work
the best, but you really need not to
hang out with anyone who smokes, it
will help a bunch.

1/26/2004 10:44:48 AM - blondee
GOOD LUCK TODAY CWISSY!

1/26/2004 12:10:28 PM - Cwissy
Thanks Blondee, I being a real bitch
today. Everyones getting on my nerves!
!!. I received a ph# call from one of
our long time insureds, which I get
along with very well. Anyway, he called
to find out why is renewal, went up by
$1500.00. I explained, " well you had
two accidents, count them two accidents
within the last year and you also added
a luxury vehicle to your policy, so why
are you questioning your renewal
rate!?!?"

1/26/2004 12:15:38 PM - Cwissy
(COND) Anyway, to make a long stupid
story short. The insured contacted my
head supervisor and yeah I got in
trouble. I had to call the insured to
apologize and I also and to send a
formal letter of apologie to the cust,
in writting. Yep, thats how my day has
been so far. I wish I never started
smoking.!!!!

1/26/2004 12:18:11 PM - Cwissy
Sorry, for venting. I just needed to
get that out.

1/26/2004 4:01:42 PM - blondee
oh baby i am sorry! cant stand stupid
people! and you are welcome to vent.
This is a support group, and we
are "friends" i am here for you girl!
Just take it one day at a time. From
what i hear the first week is the
hardest. Someone posted once that it
takes 21days to make a change, and i
believe that. Once you realize how
much better you feel, how much fresher
everything smells it will get easier.
If you were one of my friends i hang
with i would buy

1/26/2004 4:03:40 PM - blondee
you a bag of tootsie pops. i think it
helps to suck on something since
smoking is not just the nicotine but an
oral fixation. it sucks when people are
stupid and annoying. you are trying to
quit smoking and have warts its like
you want to wear a sign that says be
nice to me becuz i cant deal with
another stressor in my life!

1/26/2004 4:05:18 PM - blondee
i have high Bp and have had it for
almost 2yrs now, and i HATE being on
medication, and as we know with warts,
medication only takes you so far, its
80% mental..i have to breath in close
my eyes and just try to realize that
there so many worse things to stress
about... i dunno maybe that will help
with smoking... just try to stay cool
and breathe...

1/26/2004 11:10:28 PM - Cwissy
You are so sweet Blondee. Thank you so
much for your support. I really needed
that. Yes, I know what you mean about
oral fixation, thats why I've had a
tongue ring for so long, but the way
I'm feeling now, I want to yank the
bitch out! I'm also worried about
putting weight on. Most people I know
told me they gained like 10-20lbs from
quiting smoking. I guess they were
using food as a comfort, instead of
nicotine.

1/26/2004 11:14:11 PM - cwissy
(COND) Watch, soon I'll be wart free
but with a couple pounds of cream
cheese, butter, bagels, etc... added to
my ass. Then I'm gonna need the diet
patch. LOL!

I'm going to bed. Instead of counting
sheep, I'm going to count cigs. :)

What a dirty habit I have :(

1/27/2004 11:05:42 AM - blondee
i had a friend that actually did the
opposite becuz he just started takig
better care of himself. You'll be okay.
Just take it one day at a time. Youve
been "clean" for 1 day! I am so proud
of you.

1/27/2004 2:15:46 PM - cwissy
Thanks girl! You're the best! Today I'm
doing better. Still being a royal bitch
but much better then yesterday.

Talk to ya later. :)

2/13/2004 1:25:47 PM - Sorry
Get the nastiest tasting cigarettes you
can find.Misty's work wonders.Only take
as many puffs as you "feel you need".
Snuff it out and smoke that same
cigarette the next time. You can buy
smoke free cigarettes (believe it or
not) I saw them in a grocery store
before. Call around and ask.Or you can
chew the candy kind they taste worlds
better!

2/21/2004 5:04:49 AM - CC
I was also diagnosed with HPV about 5
months ago and I was also a smoker. I
began a running program and quit
smoking 49 days ago cold turkey. All I
needed to know was that the habit that
I had for so many years was finally
taking a toll on my health. I want
this disease to go away and it won't do
that if I continue smoking. You can
stop as soon as you realize how it has
destroyed your body.

2/22/2004 11:36:01 AM - Sorry
Thankyou CC. You can fight this!! You
did the right thing. The doctor told me
that smoking is THE WORST thing you can
do for HPV.It causes most of the
outbreaks.P.S.SMOKING MEANS ANY KIND OF
PUFFING OF SMOKE O.K.?
