check optimistic links, the links in hpvsupport.com, and just google. I have read medical journals (not just the ones on the internet but from jama) taht did found that the virus was not detectable in over 90% after 2 yrs. It depends what you read... do your research, then make your decision.

It's no set time. I do believe that your body clears it although it would be foolish to think it's the same time for everyone. So, we can't tell you how long.

It is different for everyone - my doctor said they would come back, it might be one year, it might be 5 but that was 12 years ago and they never came back. My boyfriend at the time had them too and his never came back either. I guess we were lucky.

Mary: When your doctor told you that, it was back before all this new research had been done showing the virus eventually clears or goes to undetectable levels. In fact, back then, there was no way to test for the virus at all. Of course, there's still no way in clinical practice, but researchers do use some sophisticated testing tools that were not available 12 years ago.
