well if the person loves you enough and is willing to make that risk then fine. also remember that you tend to no longer be contagious after a year because your body may have at that point driven out the virus. If it worries both you and your partner enough wait for some time. focus on your health as well as those other things. tell yourself i can fight this. no one wants to be alone forever.

also dont look to hook up with a woman with hpv only for that reason. if it makes it more comfortable for you then fine but dont settle only for that reason, make sure you have other things in common. good luck!

Dude, get over it. I have HPV and slept with 3 women. Nobody got it and I always used a condom. Just wait until the lesions go away.

Women can still catch it using a condom, just make sure you are honest. And definitely wait for lesions or bumps to go away!

That was the first thing I worried about. Dating. You just have to do what you think is right. My focus is on school. No time to date, well thats my excuse. It would be cool to meet someone with this. less stress. good luck

Come on guys, out of everything you are worried about dating. Dating is one thing engaging in sex is different. Just think, you are lucky to only have HPV, it's a dangerous world for those who are sexually active.

I've known for 1 year now. I am aware that you can pass it with a condom. I know that first hand, since I got HPV w/a condom. I've never had sex w/out one.

I guess everyone worries about dating because this is hard to go through, but going through it alone is even harder.

I just found out that I have HPV and I have a fiance. We have had unprotected sex before so I think she might have it. I can't go on living knowing that I gave her a virus. I am hanging on the edge. Everyday I think about pulling the trigger????????

Mike- I have thought about pulling that trigger too. Almost did, ended up in a crisis center instead and no matter how angry I get about having this diseaseand how many times I think it may have been better if I did I am still here fighitng it- wishing it never happened or that I never found out and was one of the lucky ones.

Mike, chill out. Look, if you're going to get laid in life, this is something you'll likely get. It's skin to skin what the hell are you going to do? Not have sex? Give me a break.

Look on the CDC website...80% of people get HPV during their life. It can be said that its normal to get this and if you are sexual active in todays world YOU WILL GET IT. No worries my man, this is by far not the end of the world. In two years you'll never know you had it in the first place.

Personally, i wouldent worry about it, its likr getting a wart on your hand or foot. After a while it goes away, in more than 90% of people the immune system deals with it and kicks its ass. I thought about offing myself too...but after reading up on it I realized its not a big deal, HPV is the most common and most treatable condition. i cought huge warts on my hands as a kid, and after 20 years i havent had annother. it could be worse. Good luck and god bless

Guys and Mike....don't worry so much. I felt horrible too but it goes away....just get treatment. Just like warts on hands/feet....they go away and most likely don't come back. This is what the studies show.

seriously.. hpv is NOT THE END OF THE WORLD! when i found out i got it.. i was like man that sucks, then i got on with my life. its hpv, not hIv... if you had HIV, THEN thats reason to be upset! believe me.. i volunteered at an hiv shelter, and even those people were still happy! hpv is nothing more than a little skin condition that happens to be on sex organs, it doesnt kill you or pose any health threats. we should seriously consider ourselves LUCKY!!

i just found out I have HPV...i detected a wart so got myself checked out. I'm bummed out, but also trying to keep perspective. I know lots of girls my age who have this same std...it's pretty darn common. It's just this wart that bums me out. And I feel terrible about possibly exposing my partner. Any tips on how to tell your partners about this??
