Skeptical about immunity

I was diagnosed with HPV in 1999 and haven't had a reoccurrance since, unless very small and not noticeable to the naked eye. I was monogamous from that time till 2003. Based on what I was reading and not having reoccurrances, I thought it was possible I was immune to hpv or at least that it wouldn't be as easy for my partner to get it. Well after three months from the time my partner and I had protected sex for the first time, he found out he had it too. I just want you guys to know that when you think you may be in clear and may not be contagious, don't think that way, just know any future partner more than likely will get it. We were as safe as we could be - condom and boxers on each time.

Did you have visible warts removed
after you were diagnosed? And were
there any reoccurence of warts after
you had them removed?

4/30/2004 3:03:55 PM -
Yes I did have visible warts removed
that reoccured several times that same
year, but have had nothing since that
I can tell are warts since 2000.

4/30/2004 4:06:46 PM -
Isnt it possible he already had it?
Are you showing symptoms (GW)?

4/30/2004 4:34:27 PM -
I am sure it is possible he already
had it, but I really don't think so.
No, I do not have any symptoms of GW.

4/30/2004 6:07:24 PM -
Did you do a biopsy on him to make sure
they were warts? It is more possible he
already had it.

4/30/2004 6:11:49 PM -
If you used a condom and boxers I
doubt he has them

4/30/2004 7:29:27 PM - John
It's good that people report this sort
of thing because we don't get many
stories of people transferring the
virus after years of not having warts.
Would be interesting to find out if he
has the same strain you do.

By the way condoms don't do much to
prevent against warts, at least not for
me anyway.

5/1/2004 1:08:13 PM -
Well, it sounds like he already had
them. Or else you have some warts you
aren't seeing.

5/2/2004 7:29:49 AM - Dr
hpv is always in your body even you
have no reoccurrence. So you are still
contagious

5/2/2004 12:54:26 PM -
Dr you are a moron...Hpv is a skin
virus, and not to mention you are
always getting new skin cells..but you
would know all about that right? Idiot

5/2/2004 4:33:02 PM - John
I'd like to if "Dr" is actually a
doctor, what kind of a doctor, or is
he/she a medical school dropout. Also,
do you have any research or medical
journals you are quoting from, or are
you just a board troll?

5/3/2004 8:50:16 AM -
I still really don't think he already
had it based on all the
circumstances. And I know that I
couldhave som I don't really know are
there and about a year ago I
questioned a bump down there, my dr.
did a biopsy, but it was too small to
diagnose. Additionally, when I had
warts for the very first time and
thereafter, they were itchy and I have
not had those symptoms.

5/5/2004 12:02:23 AM -
When was the last time he had sex
before you, how many partners has he
had total in the last 3 years? Sounds
like we need more information before
we can assume that your old strain
reactivated.

5/13/2004 6:24:09 PM -
why does everyone always blame the guy.
Not all men are tramps. I got this
damn hpv from my girl and haven't had
it looked at yet. what's a guy gonna do
about this sticky... I mean "bumpy,"
situation? She didn't seem surprised.

5/14/2004 7:10:35 PM -
...she didn't seem surprised when she
found out I had G/W. It was like no
big deal. Now I feel trapped in a
relationship because nobody wants to be
with a diseased carrier of something
incurable.

6/7/2004 12:12:13 AM -
how does that boxer thing work? how
effective is it?

6/7/2004 9:01:38 AM -
My guy just keeps his boxers on so
only his thing is exposed but we use a
condom, size Large so it will go right
down to base and we just try to be as
safe as possible. The opening of the
boxers is large so you have to eb
careful. I guess it can be very
effective if you are very careful. I
suggest the guy wearing spandex with a
hole cut in it along with the boxers.

isn't it possible that you had some
warts on the inside of your vagina that
you didn't know about that could've
transmitted the virus to him? cus a lot
of times the only way gw on the inside
of your vagina and on your cervix can
be detected is by having a colposcopy
done...so that may be a possibility

6/8/2004 9:49:56 AM -
I am sure anything is possible. All I
am trying to say, basically is that it
is best to never assume you are in the
clear or not contagious.

6/9/2004 11:41:01 PM -
Again we need to know how many
partners he has had in his recent past
going back maybe 3 years. If you were
that careful I don't see how you could
have given it to him even if you still
were contagious. Its very possible he
had it before you were even together.

6/11/2004 2:45:02 AM -
i was wart free for about three years
and was still able to infect my
partner with the virusi thought i had
build immunity to the virus . i wanted
to think that i was not able to pass
the virus anymore, i really think this
virus stays for life.
