it seems like i read a lot about people putting down aldara. now i understand that it doesnt work for everyone, but it worked wonders on me! yes, i did itch and yes, it is expensive, but hey, in only 4 weeks my warts were completely cleared. i know i probably shouldnt speak to soon, since i am just newly healed, but so far so good. i have a little tip for all aldara users out there... everyone knows it costs a lot of money, so what i did (and what my gyno suggested) is that you get 2 uses out of each packet. so what i would do is open a packet, use a tiny bit of cream (since you are suppose to only use a tiny bit), then i would get a little ziploc bag and put the packet in there and use it again. this way you can prolong the use of each prescription without having to constantly pay a ton of money. personally, i think aldara is the ideal treatment because instead of just removing the warts, it helps your immune system fight the virus. just as a quick question to you aldara users out there... how long have you been wart free? i read somewhere that when you use aldara it helps you not have more reoccurances of warts, and i just wanted to see how it worked for others. thank you!!

I've been using aldara forever it seems. Everytime some go away others pop up. Its a constant battle. They even reoccur in the same places! I think I've been using aldara for like 9 months all together...Now I have one real stubborn one that just doesnt seem to be responding, so I'm gonna asked for my doc to give me TCA when I go for my LEEP in 2 weeks

I started using aldara about 2 1/2 yrs ago and it does clear the gw for me but I have had 3 reoccurances. Each time seems to be different. Sometimes the Aldara clears em up quick, other times it takes weeks. OK, I have a question- what is LEEP?

I think Aldara is amazing stuff. Within a couple of weeks I could feel the warts dissolving and with in the 12 dose course I was completely cleared (and I had a lot of them). Only one has ever came back which was small enough to be destroyed with a little acid. I have been wart free for 4 years. The only side effects was a feeling of having the flu (due to the immune response to the drug) and some very minor burning (which was reassuring actually)

while i was using the Aldara i used it for 3 weeks and then that's when there was pain and it felt like my vagina was being eaten away. it works different on certain pple but what i realized is that it says to keep on for 6-10 hours and i had been perscribed 4-6 hours. in which i was using the 6-10 schedule because of no information on the medication at all to begin with. so it matters how sensitive that a person is also.

I've used it for about a year and half. It does remove them, but I'm one of the unfortunate ones where recurrences are common. I've found Condylox to be more effective as an initial treatment, then Aldara as a maintenance.
