Calm down - almost everyone who is sexually active gets HPV at some point. Make sure you do all the research and get a good outlook on it before you tell your man. www.hpvsupport.com is a good place - read through the old posts.

It's scary at first but it makes it worse if you don't have anyone to talk to about it..your true friends will not look at you differently b/c of it. Try not to worry so much about it and realize how many people that have this and that you are so far from being alone!

I also got invovled with someone new during the midst of treatment. It sucked, I just told him no sex and he understood. All these months later after having had cleared, things are going well and it was easier to tell him outside of the trauma of having to go to the doc every week. Cool guys are cool with the news.

theres nothing wrong with a relationship that has a hold on sex. it helps you achieve intimacy in other ways, and is kind of a nice thing having someone wait until you are better... it really shows your partner cares for you, and besides, no one ever got genital warts from kissing or cuddling, which in my opinion, is a wonderful way to interact with the one you love and is just as meaningful and intimate as sex;)

Hey...I am 19 years old and also just found out I have genital warts. I have recently started dating a guy, and I thought this website was REALLY helpful in having the GW conversation: http://www.hpvforum.com/howto.asp#gw
By the way, he was totally cool about it, and he can't wait until they clear from my system within the next 1-2 years. hehe :-D Quit worrying..you're sooo normal. It is your wake up call. Be safe and have fun!

I agree with the 2nd mess. My b/f and some family members know. If they care and love you then it will not matter.
