I went to the dermatologist for what I thought was a rash that had been slowly spreading on the inside/top of both wrists, one spot on a finger,2 bumps on my arm and a patch on one elbow- and was diagnosed with flat warts. When i was a kid i used to get one here or there that would go away but they didn't look like the multiple ones popping up in these spots. I dont seem to have any on my genital area, the doc did a quick check and didnt think I had anything there. After suggesting that Poison Ivy rubbed on the areas may trigger my immunity to fight off the warts, I was prescribed Aldara , which he said was not FDA approved for this -but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this drug for these types of warts? Are flat warts a totally different virus than the big "cauliflower like" warts I got as a kid? can i spread this to others? Is it considered "genital" if it spreads down there or just still flat warts ,in a bad place?

Warts are warts..they come from the same virus but different strains. I did read a study that derms were starting to hand out Aldara for body warts and such..I would try it you have nothing to lose..it may work
