Severe Confusion

Recently I discovered that my boyfriend of 2 years had relations both before we were together and then again about a year into the relationship with a girl who was diagnosed with HPV. She swears up and down it was him who gave it to her, and he was never sure and was never responsible enough to get tested. Six months ago, after a year and a half of sleeping with this douche bag I was checked for everything after suspecting some infidelity, and I did not have HPV. Between then and now they've had encounters and most of them were procted...-most-..so after talking to my doctor I pretty much have a 50% chance that I've contracted it. I won't know for a few more days. I only really found out all this information about two days ago. I know I'm at risk now...oh and by the way he knew the entire time he was putting me at risk, and that he may have had the virus himself ...and even after I asked him several several times just for health purposes if there was anything whatsoever that he suspected or had or may have gotten or if his previous girlfriends had contracted anything and he just lied his face off. What I'm confused about though...is if I was sleeping with him for a year and half...pretty regularly and rarely with protection...how could I have not contracted it before then, and was he really the one who supposedly passed it on to this girl? I don't think there's any way possible I didn't get it before then. Maybe someone can help me with this query

these are questions you may never
know the answers to. its the kind of
disease that can show no symptoms
whatsoever and condoms don't
make you safe. there is no test for it
until it shows up on our pap or
unless you see warts on the outside.
there are also periods of subclinical
infection where someone may not
even be contageous but still have it.
talk to your doctor and do self checks
regularly. good luck, girl i hope it
works out for the good.

Basically everyone gets HPV and only 1
to 5% of those people who have it will
ever get a symptom. It is very
possible that you have it now (or even
already have it) and will never know.
This isn't anything to sweat over,
odds are you will never experience
anything with this at all. As for the
girl before, there really is no way to
say for certain from who and when you
ever got it since it is so common out
there, regardless of what she might
believe.

No not everyone...only between 75% to
95% of the population by age 50.
Studies have shown approximately 60%
of college students have been infected
by the time college is over. So no,
literally not EVERYONE, but mostly
everyone, which is why you should not
sweat it.
