HPV kills approximately 4,000 women a
year. Most of these women do not get
regular paps. More than 99.98% of
people that get HPV don't have any
serious effects from it. To put it in
perspective 36,000 people die from the
flu every year.

Let me rephrase that....Cervical
Cancer (which HPV plays a role in the
development of) kills approximately
4,000. There are other factors that
lead to the development of cancer that
need to be in play for HPV to progress
there.

yes hpv can also cause AIN (anal
dysplasia), VIN (vulvar dysplasia), or
VaIN(vaginal dysplasia), which, if
left untreated can develop into anal,
vulvar, or vaginal cancers. anal,
3500 new cases a yr, 500 ppl die.
vulvar, 4000 new cases a yr, 850 die,
vaginal, 2200 new cases a yr, 800 will
die. you wont hear about these 3 very
often b/c they are "rare", but they
still happen and it is important to be
informed, so be on the lookout for
changes in these areas.

actually women can get anal cancer
without having anal sex b/c a womens
juices flow down there and if you have
even a tiny tear or abrasion, the
virus can get in that way, i know
women it has happened to.
