yes it does this is just a virus that lives in the skin the reason why it will stick around is because of where it is located the immune system takes awhile to catch it and kill it so just boost your immune sytem and kick this viruses ass

You cannot get ride of the virus; but you can elimate the wart it self. The virus Does Not go anywhere, no matter how many treatments you administer

To continue with the above statement and to answer the question, the virus works like a cold sore virus. A cold sore will go away but once you have one, you will always have the virus that causes them to appear. It can re- appear two months or up to five years after the initial occurance

The above poster is wrong. HPV behaves more like the chicken pox rather than herpes. Your body will have an outbreak that will be supressed or in some cases eliminated. Like the chicken pox, your immune system will supress it to the point it is no longer a problem. It may come back (like shingles with cp) but it does not set up permanent latency like herpes (and yes, I know Chicken Pox is a form of herpes, you know what I mean)

same as above
For that matter though any time your body comes down with a cold or the flu, technically (or theoretically) the virus remains with your 'for life' and there is 'no cure'. This is true of all viruses. Your immune system just figures out how to beat them and takes them out of commission.

i am glad you understand that cold sores and chicken pox and shingles are all caused by herpes, but i dont understand why you would say that they are different. the poster is correct in that hpv can always come back and that the virus is never totally gone from your system. if your immune system is lowered for any reason, you could have an outbreak of hpv, even if you havent had one in 10 yrs.

what about regular old hand warts? I had them when I was 10 or so, they went away and I have never had a wart since - they are a virus, why when have they reoccured?

you develop an immunity to regular warts - but it is short lived so you can get them again. I wonder if common warts are in the same layer of skin?

yes...the epidermas...it is five layers thick takes 30 days to regenerate i think...one reason I think over time you will clear...because if the hpv infected cells don't replicate fast enough they will get pushed to the outer epidermas and die off

The only difference between a hand wart and a genital wart is where it is. Your hands warts that went away are exactly the same as your genital warts, which will go away and most likely never come back. What can be said about GWs can be said for hand warts also, but we don't seem to mind it if its on our hand. Seems to be a pretty absurd double standard. A wart is wart, and no matter where it is it is not a big deal. Just a temporary skin bump people.

uhh, no they arent exactly the same. they ARE both hpv, but they are different strains, and warts from hand cant be transferred to genitals and vise versa. your blanket statement is not entirely accurate.

No, because if you read my post you'll notice that I never said that hand warts and genital warts were cross transferable (even though my dermatologist said its possible, but hey, you've done more research than him I'm sure so fuck what he and his 25 years of experience). Explain to me, besides the strain, how a hand wart and genital wart are any different and I'll give you cookie.

i'm sorry, i guess i misunderstood your post my bad. i thought you were telling ppl they are the same thing, while they are both warts and common or hand warts can grow in the genital area but are not considered genital warts. gw require a moist environment to grow, whereas common warts usu require the opposite to thrive. so can i have a cookie anyways? =) j/k
