hpv years ago...

Anbody, have hpv years ago and still knowingly gave it to a partner?

Comments:

12/18/2004 7:08:54 AM -
Since hpv is no cure, no matter how
many years ago you have hpv, you can
still gave it to your partner.

12/19/2004 5:59:07 PM -
Where are you getting this information
about no cure? Testing has become more
and more sensitive showing it actually
goes away. The above poster is a big
pessamist. After a few years without
symptoms consider yourself cured> Just
practice safe sex.

12/20/2004 1:13:58 AM -
no the actual truth is SOME people will
never clear it although a FEW people
will completely irradicate it from
their system. but dont make the faulty
assumption that no symptoms means no
hpv since MOST ppl are asymptomatic and
you can have the virus for life just
like all other viruses

12/20/2004 7:51:02 AM -
Wow, I never knew that 92% of people
is "few". The reality is that "most"
people clear it (whether its still
there or not is moot) and that a "few"
will not be able to clear it do to
genitic or lifestyle factors. Since
as the above poster points out
that "most" people are asymptomatic
and "most people get HPV (75% to 90%)
who cares anyway.

12/20/2004 9:46:16 AM -
above poster is right...just think
about our population if this never
went away the 1% that show warts would
be exponetial increase...a FEW people
is not 92% dude

12/20/2004 4:24:53 PM -
no, you make the mistake that b/c 92%
of ppl dont show, you think they are
cleared and that statement is bs.
doctors cant even tell when or if you
have cleared the virus, just b/c they
cant detect it on their tests doesnt
mean it isnt there. they cant detect
chickenpox either until it springs back
up and causes shingles. you ppl act
like you know everything when even the
medical community is changing its story
practically weekly b/c THEY dont know,
so how could you

12/20/2004 6:35:23 PM -
So what do you suggest then given that
75 to 90% of sexually active adults
will get infected with HPV at some
point in their life and that 95% of
them won't get symptoms? So what if
it "may" come back, if you cant detect
it using sensitive DNA tests it isn't
contagious, so at least 92% "are no
longer contagious". Do you avoid
people because your chicken
pox "might" flare up in 10 or 20
years? What is the reasonable
solution?

12/20/2004 6:37:59 PM - same as above
It we can't assume clearance and that
we're all forever contagious then
wouldn't that mean that about 80% of
us are "forever" contagious? What is
the reasonable solution then? Like I
said earlier, whether or not its still
there is a moot argument with no
practical value. There's no reason
not to go about life as normal after
two to three years of having HPV.

12/21/2004 5:48:52 AM -
the practical value is informing all
future partners that you have been
diagnosed with HPV, THAT is my point.
and no, i dont worry about ppl getting
my chicken pox, if you knew anything
about the herpes zoster virus and had
actually bothered to research it then
you would know that... (cont below)

12/21/2004 5:50:17 AM -
More than 1 of every 10 people who had
chicken pox as children get shingles as
adults, usually over age 60. The
chicken pox virus remains dormant or
inactive in nerve root cells of the
body. and Contact with an infected
person will not cause shingles.
However, although shingles is not
contagious, contact with a person with
shingles could lead to chicken pox in
someone who has never had it before.

12/21/2004 5:52:16 AM -
and i never said you shouldnt go on
living life and that you should act
like the world is over or anything, my
point is simply that ppl should not
keep acting like it is no big deal b/c
it is so common. its b/c ppl act like
that that it has become so common in
the first place.

12/21/2004 7:41:57 AM -
Pls note that chicken pox is not std.
hpv is a std which cause serious
outcome.

12/21/2004 7:57:37 AM -
The flue kills 36,000 people a year
(almost 9 times as many as cervical
cancer). We all need to start taking
the flu more serously as well, and
don't downplay it, there's one of
those 36,000 in a hospital bed right
now who won't appreciate your lack of
concern.

12/21/2004 9:53:15 AM -
where does this person get off telling
us what we research and what we don't.
Comparing HPV to chicken pox is
ridculus. HPV is NOT a systemic virus
where chicken pox is...this is a huge
difference, of course Medical info is
change all the time, doctors don't know
jack...the R&D companies have the info
trust me I work for one that is working
on the HPV vaccine

12/21/2004 9:55:24 AM -
Maybe we should run around with are
heads cut off because of HPV...live
your life stop being paranoid...i
realize that unfortunately this does
affect a few badly...the majority it
does not...leave it at that your not
saving the world w/all your great
medical knowledge

12/21/2004 6:30:18 PM -
i was making a comparison of viruses
and not being able to detect them until
you have a current outbreak. all i am
trying to say is ppl should inform
others they have been infected, its b/c
ppl dont inform or think they are clear
that this keeps getting passed.

12/22/2004 7:13:45 AM -
Who say you have no problem!

12/22/2004 9:20:56 AM -
I would better my bottom dollar there
is a correalation between "time
between partners" and "passing
HPV"...basically if people would allow
more time inbetween sexual partners
HPV would not be as wide spread

1/4/2005 1:15:23 AM -
I think many people have been told
years ago that hpv was not there so
they screwed everyone anyway. Then
years latter like 2005 poeple are
popping up with it like crazy. Because
people were and are being Told false
info.

1/4/2005 9:21:16 AM -
what info? what people? "I think many
people have been told..." --- So you
did a survey??
