Ive been with my man for 3 years we broke up I always got tested at the
OB never had a problem we broke up for 2 years and never got checked out
for those 2 years cause i never became intimate w/anyone then hooked up
w/an old friend for one night and used a condom. Then,a month later got back with my old boyfriend and 3 months later got hpv. Lets just say my old
friend was never w/anyone for those 2 years do yu think its possible i could of got w/ the guy i used protection with? could HPV live on a condom?
The HPV I got is internal w/cervical dysplasia.

first, it is near impossible to detect when and where you got it from. secondly, yes you could have gotten it from the guy w/ the condom b/c condoms reduce the risk but do NOT prevent transmission of hpv, and thirdly, you could have had it for years and never known b-4 b/c it didnt cause a problem until now. hpv CAN lie dormant and then spring up later(usu when your immune system is down) and cause dysplasia. i hope this helps out.

THe cervical type of hpv usually has to hang around for a year or so before it does its damage.What was your pap lsil? The virus needs time to replicate and would not cause damage to cervical cells in 3 months if you had a low grade change. When you get hpv its not sitting around doing nothing its actually active the entire time.
