no, never assume. the only way to tell would be to get an hpv dna test done. many ppls bodies can fight this off so that it lies dormant, not causing symptoms, but the virus can still be there and you can still pass it. not saying it is, but it can be. to find out for sure, get an hpv dna test done.

yes hmmm....most people only get one or two warts and thats it If you continue to have sex with the person that infected you ...very real possibility you will see more.

are you saying that sex with the person that infected me will make warts happen more often?

its a possibility, hpv is highly contagious. if the person has warts while your having sex, you could be exposing diff areas of skin to the virus, which could make more warts pop up.

My warts were gone for 2 years and I thought I was out of the woods. Then I got into a new relationship (told him about the hpv, but that I had been clear for a long time). Within months, I had warts again and it is just like the first time; very difficult to get rid of and they're spreading. I am sure my boyfriend has hpv now. I am afraid this will ruin our relationship.

p.s. to the above comment: before we started having sex I had a hpv dna test and it came up negative too.

to above comment
yeah, thats the unfortunate part that a lot of ppl on this board dont understand. if the virus is not active, it WONT show up on an hpv dna test, but is still in your system lying dormant. i'm so sorry that your dealing with warts again. good luck getting rid of them this time.
