My treatment

Hello everyone, My name is Jackie. Im 21 years old and have had Genital warts for the past 3 years. I first noticed them when i bacame pregnant, the doc said sometimes pregnancy can cause a breakout because the baby is taking all of your nutrients.By the end of my pregnancy, my vagina was completely covered. Here i am 3 years later, and there still there. I have never had an abnormal pap smear. Ive tried numerous at home treatments, as well as 3 months of tca treatments, to no avail. Docs say that lasering would be hell and would not recomend it for someone whos warts are so numerous. I finally got health insurance and switched gynos. I had my first appointment on monday night. For the first time since this whole thing began i feel optimistic. My new doc has had a lot of sucess with ppl in my situation involving a lot of warts.. We began tca treatment, but the differance this time is he is also a pharmacist and mixes his own tca. He began with only the bottom half of my vagina. He applied the tca, and it was painful, my vagina was severly swolllen, but the pain subsided and after a couple of hours was only slightly tender. Instead of treating the wart he treated the entire area including the surrounding skin. Because the virus lives in the skin, he wants to force it into suppression. Well 24 hours later, every warts is black and the smaller ones have even begun to flake off. Tommorow morning i go to do the upper half of my vagina. I know this all may seem a little exetreme, but i am sitting here in tears because this is the first time in 3 years that im beginning to see an end to this. I know ill always have hpv, and ill probobly always have outbreaks now and then, but if i go thru all of this pain (the doc said i will need to be treated twice a week for at least a month for total clearance)It would alll be worth it just to be able to look at my vagina and not cringe. Ive dealt with this for so long, and forget what it feels like to be normal..i just want to be able to feel sexy again, and up until yesterday, i thought i never would. Well this is my story i will keep you all posted... keep your fingers crossed for me, and ill do the same for you.

jackie, i am so glad to hear that the
treatment is starting to work, thats
GREAT!! i know how relieved you must
be feeling now that you can reclaim
your vagina. if the warts dont
completely go away, just get one cut
off to biopsy and make sure it isnt
anything else, but it sounds good.
congrats

I had one wart removed with TCA, it
hasn't come back, but there are others
now. I caught the first wart at the
very beginning, so this is my first
breakout - I'm using aldera now, and
after 10 weeks on it I'm going to have
more TCA done. I hope it goes well for
you. Good luck.

thank you:) aldara didnt work for me
this is the first treatment that has
done anything, its now been almost a
week since me treatments with tca, and
id say about 65% of my warts have
fallen off(thank God finally)ths area
is now very tender and sore...but
thats to be expected, one section of
my vagina that was very wart ridden is
now completel smooth...i havent felt
that in almost 3 years.
