In 3rd Trimester of Preg. & just found out I have HPV & genital Warts- - (6 ) comments.

Last week I was taking shower and washing myself. I felt a ruff spot and then started to feel around and felt many ruff spots. I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror and noticed many white bumps in line with my vagina and urethra. I was shocked I didn’t notice them earlier- maybe this is because they just appeared or because they are on my vagina and urethra instead of labia so I just never noticed. I got in to my gyno/obgyn the next day. He told me it was HPV and genital warts but couldn’t test me because I am pregnant (in my third trimester now) and he burned them off (even though they now still look exactly the same). I freaked out and told him I just had a pap done in the beginning of my pregnancy and it came out normal which made me think that my husband cheated on me, he assured me he did not. I wonder if genital warts come out more when you are pregnant and I have had HPV but just didn’t know? I also have 2 warts on my finger, and 2 on my thigh, the two on my thigh don’t look like warts but like a skin mole is this also because of HPV? I wish I could ask my doctor all this, he is known as the best in the valley but his accent is so heavy I can’t understand him. I also am prone to bacterial vaginosis I wonder if this has any thing to do with HPV? Should I have a c-section? I asked my doctor that right away and he said we will just go through it month by month, he was acting weird because he saw how upset I was and I could tell he didn’t want to talk about it with me this time. Any advise would be great!

The chances of the warts being spread to
your baby through a normal vaginal birth
are low assuming you have no visible warts.

The HPV virus that causes the warts may
have been in your system latently
(without symptoms) for years, and the
change in hormones caused by the
pregnancy may have led to the flare up,
so your husband may not have given the
virus to you at all.

The warts that are on your hands etc are
unlikely to be the same strain that
causes the genital warts. There are 110
HPV strains, and most are specific to a
certain area, so they are probably not
related.

Hope that helps :) Just try not to
stress so you can get rid of the warts
and have a healthy baby.

This is definitly not enough evidence
to say your husband cheated because
genital warts is so tricky it can lay
dormant etc my first outbreak also
came when I got preggers so I really
dnt knw but dnt end the realtionship
over it your gonna have to wait for
some hardcore evidence you could have
had it for ahile and since u got
pregnant it lowers your immune system
so u wont reject the baby thus leading
to your outbreak

I know exactly what you are going
through. I am 27 weeks pregnant now
and I thought everything was fine
because i had a pap test in the
beginning and it was normal, until i
started noticing bumps then my doc
told me it was GW and i was so
stressed out. Now im worried about the
delivery. I dont want to deliver with
those nasty things there. Now im
thinking of not even letting my sister
in there because she doesnt know about
it. I dont know what to do!
