Living with HPV- - (5 ) comments.

Last January I was diagnosed with HPV. I thought it was a rash and seemed to form overnight. I found out that I had gotten this from my boyfriend. His "moles" were really HPV and he never knew. We have gone through a lot of emotions however we are still together. It is hard sometimes when I have a breakout and I am sure to remind him to stay on top of the painful treatments. I have less breakouts and they are farther apart. I hope that in time I will have no breakouts. I believe it is important to keep the lines of communication open in a relationship and to let future partners know the risks. Protection and education are keys to protecting ourselves...if only we knew then what we know now!

I´m going trough the same situation that
yours but in my case I don´t know if I
infected my fiance or he infected me, we
really don´t care because we know
neither of us knew we had the virus. It
is very difficult, and as you say, is
important to have comunication and much
love.

Nena-thank you for your comment-it is
comforting to know there are other
people in my situation. Sometimes this
virus can make you feel very
alone. "much love" is right-breakouts
are very taxing on the soul. I am glad
that you and your fiance are doing
well and coping with this. Good luck!

im confused what is a break-out? Isnt
that herpes because warts just dont go
away and come back and so on do they?

I am talking about HPV- it is a little
different than Herpes. I can get them
to clear up, then if I get stressed
then they come back. I am getting
better now that I am no longer dating
the person that gave them to me- he
wasnt as actively taking care of
himself. My advice is work with your
doctor and get well- and be careful of
who you sleep with- and be honest with
partners so they wont get it too.

The same thing happened to me. My ex-
bf infected me with HPV and it was
devistating. He wasnt honest with me
about carrying the virus and it
ultimately destroyed our
relationship. HONESTY is a must and
you should always keep your partners
informed.
