I have had HPV for about twelve years now. Twelve years ago, I had a colpolscopy performed, and also had a LEEP procedure performed. During the past twelve years, I have had negative papsmear results until recently. I have had sex with one man over the past month and now all of a sudden I have an abnormal pap result. My last boyfriend that I was with for 7 years, I had negative papsmears as well. This is just the way HPV does its thing. I have been told I have a mild abnormal papsmear so it could be as simple as a little yeast, and it can be more, but the main thing is when a woman has an abnormal papsmear, follow up with it because even the slightest mild abnormal could affect your cervix with cancer eventually. Take it from me, I know. Colpolscopies, and LEEP procedures are not fun for us ladies. Good luck to you all.
