I was a virgin before I met my fiance. She got it from her ex and thought it was gone. We had been together for a few years until it happened. I keep reading about doctors that say HPV is not a big deal and you shouldn't tell others because it is so common or not life threatening. I keep reading about people with it saying don't worry about spreading it to others because they already have it.

This don't worry about it talk is bs. It's still an STD. It's not a small deal. Everyone doesn't have it. It's not right to take away a person's decision whether they want to take that risk or not when you know you have or had it. It shows a poor judgment to not inform someone about the situation, so they can make a decision for themselves.

When you hide this and have sex with someone you take away that person's choice. It's not fair when you know. It's wrong. I don't care what excuses people make us to ease their consciences. You can be forgiven but that still doesn't mean not informing another person before having sex is right.

I am working on forgiving my fiance because I know she would never do any intentionally to hurt me. But I am pissed at all the stupid doctors and people that think it's okay to not tell people and roll the dice on someone else's life. It's stressful as hell to find out something like this and not fully understand HPV. But I would have been able to protect myself if my fiance had told me upfront, idiotic doctors had common sense, and infected people didn't assume everyone else is in the same boat.
