Answers:
There are various treatments available. Some of the more popular I have found Podophyllin Applied directly to the affected area to kill wart. I believe this is an acid formula with potential toxicity. Podofilox Topical at home version of Podyphillin. Strength is less (supposedly so is toxicity) and can be prescribed by doctor. Cryotherapy Freeze the wart dead. Laser Therapy Have your doc zap them away. Aldara Topical at home cream - claims to modify immune response in applied area. Have heard good/bad things about this option. I'm sure there are many other less popular treatments available, these are the ones I've heard of. AL

Also there are several microbiotics in the FDA pipeline that do kill viruses such as HPV, HSV and HIV. The test will be do they work out of the lab. Vira-medx is an over the counter microbiotic that kills viruses like HSV on contact and it does work. They are getting very close to effective treatments. Remember there are 100 strains of HSV. On CNN today I saw the 3Ms creme that eliminates genital warts (not just treats but eliminates) can also be used to reduce other tumors and abnormal cell growths. I just wish they would have given the product name.

Start taking care of yourself! Start taking vitamins daily. For sure start taking Vitamin E daily. Centrum is also a good vitamin to take with that. If you haven't yet I would talk to your doctor about different treatments available that would best work for you.

Look in your local phone book. There should be clinics in your area. Most of them are free if you do not have insurance. If they're not free, the cost is very low. I get my treatments done at a local clinic, and it costs absolutely nothing. Anyone in Texas should look for a local UTMB clinic. They're awesome. You can have your doctor prescribe you the aldara cream which visibly reduces genital warts (speaking from experience), and that usually costs around $150 without insurance. To me, that's a fair asking price for something that works so well. It may take several refills before you get rid of the warts though. I hope that helped some. And anyone that reads this, thanks for any input you've contributed to this site. I just found it today, and I think I may be able to live a better life. Thank you all!!

There are a variety of treatments with differing success. Some people have sucess with treatments that others do not. Your doctor can help you in trying the options he sees fit. I doubt the treatment will come with a guarantee that they won't return. Warts will appear if your immune system isn't strong enough to repress them.

There is no cure for genital warts. You can treat the symptoms through a variety of treatments offered by your doctor. Improving your health is another way to increase your chances of ridding the symptoms. I'd reccomend taking a multi-vitamin, folic acid supplement, fruit and vegetable intake, excercise and if you smoke quit.

There are no over the counter treatments, and don't try to use an over the counter treatment for regular warts, you could cause infection or damage the tissue. It is best to go see a doctor even if you are scared. Your doc can answer lots of questions for you too.

There are a LOT of over the counter treatments. However you shouldnt use them unless youve been diagnosed with HPV. What you have could be completely normal.

No you can't, but there are many different treatments your doctor can perform, so I suggest you go to a doctor. Sometimes the warts go away on their own, but can come back, even if you have them removed.

I'm a female and they used a different type acid on me. The warts that were present on me you could hardly see. But the procedure itself was a litte painful at first, painful meaning it stung a little, but your body will get used to it and you won't feel it as much. It take a couple of treatments sometimes depending on your case. But you'll be fine! Just take care of yourself.

Good diet, lots of excercise in most cases reduces symtpoms/occurence! There are a few drug companies researching various vaccines and treatments - don't know when more information will be available on this. Give it a few years we'll have cures for a bunch more of these annoyances!

I don't know anything about the different creams for sure but I know that nothing can actually "kill" the virus all together. You will always have that virus in your system. It's like the chickon pox. Once you have them you will always have that type of virus in you, it's just not seen anymore. The different creams just make the visual symptoms of HPV such as warts go away. Sorry I couldn't be much help with the different treatments. There is a website you can go to which is: www.ashastd.org They have a free hotline just for HPV that you can call and get information. I called and I found it very helpful.

There aren't any specific name brand over the counter treatments available. I've heard of various herbs and vitamins available at grocery stores that some have had success with: Folic acid, Vitamin E, Zinc and/or Echinachea. I like to take a Cayenne supplement it improves circulation and it's my belief that this helps heal by greater oxygen delivery throughout the body. Please visit post ('Is there anything I can purchase at my local drug or health store for treatment of what I think could possibly be genital warts? ') for additional information.

There isn't a cure. If you're curious about treatment options. Search this site for 'treatment'. Symptoms disappear depending on how your body reacts to various treatments. You should consult your doctor or dermatologist regarding this question.
